UNWTO calls for a more equal and sustainable future for tourism at ITB Berlin

ITB India to be postponed to April 2021
The ITB India, billed as the gateway to the Indian travel market, will now be held in April next year. The two-day event will take place at the Bombay Exhibition Centre from April 7-9. The ITB India organisers will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide further updates based on official assessment of the overall situation. It was supposed to be held this year from April 15-17. The organisers said the event has been postponed to ensure the safety of ITB India’s exhibitors, buyers and visitors, following the spread of COVID-19.

പ്രളയത്തില് ആഘാതമേറ്റ കേരള ടൂറിസത്തെ കരകയറ്റാന് ടൂറിസം വകുപ്പ് തീവ്രശ്രമം തുടരുന്നു. മന്ത്രി കടകംപള്ളി സുരേന്ദ്രന് മുന്നിശ്ചയ പ്രകാരം ട്രാവല് മാര്ട്ടുകളില് പങ്കെടുക്കാന് അനുമതി ലഭിച്ചു. പ്രളയക്കെടുതി മറികടക്കുന്ന കേരളത്തിലേക്ക് സഞ്ചാരികളെ സ്വാഗതം ചെയ്യാന് ട്രാവല് മാര്ട്ടുകള് അവസരമാക്കുമെന്ന് ടൂറിസം വകുപ്പ് വൃത്തങ്ങള് പറഞ്ഞു. ഈ മാസം 20ന് ടോക്കിയോയില് ജപ്പാന് അസോസിയേഷന് ഓഫ് ട്രാവല് ഏജന്റ്സ് (ജെഎടിഎ) സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ടൂറിസം എക്സ്പോ,ഒക്ടോബര് 17 നു സിംഗപ്പൂരില് നടക്കുന്ന ഏഷ്യയിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ ട്രാവല് മാര്ട്ടായ ഐടിബി ഏഷ്യ,നവംബര് 16നു ഷാംഗ്ഹായില് തുടങ്ങുന്ന ചൈന ഇന്റര്നാഷണല് ട്രാവല് മാര്ട്ട് എന്നിവയില് പങ്കെടുക്കാനാണ് മന്ത്രിക്ക് അനുമതി. ചൈന, ജപ്പാന് എന്നിവിടങ്ങളില് കേരള ടൂറിസം അടുത്തിടെ സഞ്ചാരികളെ ആകര്ഷിക്കാനുള്ള പ്രചരണം ശക്തമാക്കിയിരുന്നു. കേരളത്തിലേക്ക് ഈ രാജ്യങ്ങളില് നിന്ന് സഞ്ചാരികളെ കൂടുതലായെത്തിക്കാമെന്ന കണക്കുകൂട്ടലിലാണിത്. ടൂറിസം മേഖലയില് പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്ന കേരളത്തിലെ നിരവധി വ്യക്തികളും സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളും ഈ ട്രാവല് മാര്ട്ടുകളില് പങ്കെടുക്കും
Abu Dhabi wins most secure destination award

Palace on Wheels wins PATWA Award 2018 at ITB
Luxury train of India, Palace on Wheels, has won the Pacific Area Travel Writers Association (PATWA) award under the category ‘Tourist Train of the Year’. The award was declared at the recently concluded ITB Berlin event in Germany. One of the prestigious luxury trains of India, Palace on Wheels started its maiden run on January 26, 1982. The Incredible India pavilion won the Best Exhibitor Award in the ITB Berlin 2018 convened at Berlin, Germany from 7th March to 10th March, 2018. India was represented by the Minister of State (Independent charge) for Tourism K. J. Alphons along with Joint Secretary Suman Billa and a couple of Tourism Ministry officials. India won the best exhibitor award at the ITB Berlin. For 17 years now, the Best Exhibitor Award (BEA) is considered as a quality indicator for an attractive performance at ITB. Minister for Tourism KJ Alphons has tweeted that Incredible India’s new ad ‘Yogi of the Racetrack’ could get 3.2 million hits in 60 hours. The new ad was released by the minister at the ITB Berlin on March 7, 2018. “We are expecting significant arrivals from India”: Indonesian min
After welcoming 14 million visitors in 2017, Indonesia is all set to welcome 17 million visitors in 2018.
