Elissa was one of the delegates touring Kerala with the Yoga Ambassadors Tour. The event was organized in association with the Ministry of AYUSH and Kerala Tourism. The first edition of Yoga Ambassadors Tour conducted in Kerala, which started on 14th June at Kovalam, has concluded in Kochi on 21st June 2018 – the International Yoga Day. The tour ended proclaiming Kerala to be the Yoga destination in the coming days. Association of Tourism Trade Organizations, India (ATTOI), famed for their innovative concepts in tourism industry, was the organizers of the programme. It was a distinctive experience for the participants and spectators, when people from 23 different countries performed ‘yoga asanas’ in harmony. Yoga experts from 23 different countries assembled to perform yoga in Kochi as part of the Yoga Ambassadors Tour, organized by Association of Tourism Trade Organizations India (ATTOI), in association with Kerala Tourism and Ayush Minstry. Apart from the foreign delegates, people from different parts of the state also participated in the mass yoga demonstration.

സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര നിലവാരമുള്ള യോഗ നാച്ചുറോപ്പതി സെന്റര്‍ ആരംഭിക്കാന്‍ നടപടി സ്വീകരിച്ചു വരികയാണെന്ന് മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി പിണറായി വിജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു. തിരുവനന്തപുരത്ത് യോഗ ദിനാചരണത്തിന്റെ സംസ്ഥാനതല ഉദ്ഘാടനം നിർവഹിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി. യോഗ ഒരു മതാചാരമല്ലെന്നും മതാചാരമെന്ന നിലയില്‍ യോഗയെ ചിലര്‍ ഹൈജാക്ക് ചെയ്യാന്‍ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നുണ്ടെന്നും അത് പാടില്ലെന്നും മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി പറഞ്ഞു. യോഗ ഒരു വ്യായാമമുറയാണ് ജാതിമതഭേതമന്യേ എല്ലാവര്‍ക്കും അത് പരിശീലിക്കാവുന്നതാണ്.ചില സൂക്തങ്ങളൊക്കെ ചൊല്ലി യോഗയെ ഹൈജാക്ക് ചെയ്യാറുണ്ട് എന്നാല്‍ സൂക്തങ്ങള്‍ ഉണ്ടാവുന്നതിന് മുന്നെ യോഗ ഉണ്ടായിട്ടുണ്ടെന്ന് ഇക്കൂട്ടര്‍ മനസ്സിലാക്കണം.. യോഗ ഒരു പ്രത്യേക മതത്തിന്റെ സ്വന്തമാണെന്ന് സ്ഥാപിക്കാനാണ് ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള പ്രചാരണങ്ങള്‍ കൊണ്ടുദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നത്. ഇത് യോഗയുടെ ജനപ്രീതി കുറയ്ക്കുന്ന പ്രവണതയാണ്. കുപ്രചരണങ്ങളുടെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തില്‍ യോഗയോട് ആരും മുഖം തിരിക്കുന്നത് ശരിയല്ല. സ്വതന്ത്രവും മതേതരവുമായ മനസോടുകൂടിയാണ് യോഗ പരിശീലിക്കേണ്ടതെന്നും മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി പിണറായി വിജയന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. വികസിത രാജ്യങ്ങള്‍ പോലും യോഗയില്‍ വലിയ താത്പര്യമാണ് കാണിക്കുന്നത്. ഇന്ന് വ്യാപകമായിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ജീവിത ശൈലീരോഗങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് യോഗ ഫലപ്രദമായ പരിഹാരമാണ്. ആരോഗ്യകരമായി ...  “Government has been taking necessary steps to start a Yoga naturopathy center with international standards”, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. He was inaugurating the event organised by the state government in Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday, to observe International Yoga Day “Yoga is a form of exercise that helps in keeping several diseases away. It does not belong to any religion. There were efforts underway to hijack Yoga and colour it with religious connotations.  Such efforts should be discouraged”, he added.

An application for yoga aspirants is in stores now - it will help them to find venues globally where yoga event is happening. The application named ‘Yogalocator’, is introduced by Central Council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy Health and Fitness.  People hosting a Yoga event can also list the event on the App. Yogalocator also shows users the best routes to reach the venue.

The first ever yoga tour in the world will commence from tomorrow, 14th June 2018. Yoga masters as ambassoders of their respective countries have started to arrive for the Yoga Ambassadors Tour 2018.
