China’s Hainan offer ‘free visa’ for tourists from 59 countries
Hainan, a small southern island province of China, plans to offer visa-free on arrival for over 59 countries. According to media reports, the policy might come into force from 1st May in which the travellers are permitted to stay for over 30 days. As part of the new policy, individual tourist and groups from countries namely Britain, France, Germany, and the United States, can visit Hainan visa-free and stay there for up to 30 days on conditions. 5.9 magnitude earthquake hits Indonesia
An earthquake measuring over 5.9 magnitude on Richter scale hits the Moluccas Sea, offshore Indonesia earlier today. According to the US Geological Survey, the quake was noticed under 36.5 km northwest of Kota Ternate at around 4.30 am on Monday. No damage to life and property was recorded by the authorities. Meanwhile, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre hasn’t issued any tsunami alert, with respect to the quake. Previously Indonesia, has the history of a huge undersea earthquake in 2004, causing a massive destruction of life and property. South Korea offers multiple-entry visa to Indonesians
From now on Indonesians can afford multiple entries to South Korea within five years, with each visit allowed to last up to 30 days. The new visa policy is expected to increase the number of Indonesian visitors to South Korea. The applicant should be a civil servant, a government official or a staff member of an Indonesian State-Owned Enterprise, as evidenced by a certificate of employment and has visited South Korea at least once, as validated by a photocopy of the old visa in the passport. According to a survey by LinkedIn, famous social networking site dedicated to business and employment-related services, had revealed that Indian’s prefer being happy besides health and money. About 72 per cent Indians in the survey states that being happy is the ultimate achievement of success in their life. Plan for nomadic tourism in Indonesia
The Indonesian government is planning to further enhance its tourism service sector by developing nomadic tourism, which would be coupled with digital tourism. The decision was taken in the recently held annual national workshop meeting of Indonesian tourism stakeholders in Bali. Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Suresh Prabhu inaugurated the 33rd edition of ‘AAHAR 2018’, a 4-day event on International Food and Hospitality at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. The event is organised by India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), in association with Agricultural Processed Food Products Development Authority (APEDA), and Ministry of Food Processing Industries.
