The domestic air traffic grew at a robust rate of 26 per cent in April with various airlines together carrying 11.5 million passengers, up from 9.1 million in the same month last year, as per government data. Budget carrier IndiGo will commence flight services to Hubli from Goa and Kochi from June 2018, using an ATR plane. The launch of these services to Hubli from 28 June, which will be the airline’s 52nd destination, is aimed at consolidating IndiGo’s position further in the southern India market. The Gurugram-headquartered low cost carrier will also operate additional flights between Hubli-Chennai, Hubli- Bengaluru and Hubli- Ahmedabad with Airbus A320, starting July 1. IndiGo is offering discounts for students above the age of 12 years on domestic flights. The customers can only avail the offer if the booking is made at least seven days in advance. For bookings made under the scheme, students are eligible for total baggage allowance of 25 kilograms. The discount is valid on both, one-way and round-trip bookings. Eligible student booking flight tickets under the scheme shall be required to furnish their valid school/ university ID card at the time of check-in at the airport. In case, the student fails to furnish their ID Card, the benefits will not be extended to the ... തിരുച്ചിറപ്പള്ളിയില്‍നിന്നു കൊച്ചി, ബെംഗളൂരു എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലേക്ക് അടുത്തമാസം മുതല്‍ നേരിട്ടുള്ള വിമാന സര്‍വീസ് ആരംഭിക്കുമെന്ന് ഇന്‍ഡിഗോ വിമാന കമ്പനി. ജൂണ്‍ 28 മുതലാണു കൊച്ചിയിലേക്കും ബെംഗളൂരുവിലേക്കും നേരിട്ടുള്ള സര്‍വീസ് ആരംഭിക്കുന്നത്. 72 യാത്രക്കാരെ ഉള്‍ക്കൊള്ളുന്ന എടിആര്‍ വിഭാഗത്തിലുള്ള വിമാനമാണ് ഈ റൂട്ടുകളില്‍ സര്‍വീസിന് ഉപയോഗിക്കുകയെന്നും ഇന്‍ഡിഗോ അറിയിച്ചു.

India’s all-time favourite budget carrier IndiGo, is about to start direct flights from Chennai to Tiruchirapalli from 1st June onwards. IndiGo assigns its 7th ATR aircraft for the new mission. An IndiGo flight suffered a tyre burst on a flight from Tirupati while landing at Hyderabad Airport. The flight had 77 people on board when it was landing at the airport wednesday evening during which the tyre burst. All passengers were evacuated safely, as per the airlines’ statement. After the aircraft was stuck on the runway, the authorities at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport had to suspend the operation. Jet Airways is all set to commence its new service between Trichy- Mumbai – Delhi on March 25 on a daily basis, said airport director K Gunasekaran. A separate commercial space has been allotted to IndiGo, which has plans to commence a service between Trichy and Bangalore. An IndiGo flight 6e559, heading from Srinagar to Jammu has initiated emergency landing, after finding a fuel leak from one of the engines by the pilot. The shocking highlight of the story is that it is the 6th incident, faced by the company with their Airbus 320 neon fleet. Owning to poor visibility as many as ten flights were diverted and four cancelled at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad. Of the four flights cancelled was a Muscat-bound international flight scheduled to depart at 3.30pm. Airlines, including Jet Airways, Indigo, Spice-Jet and Air India, were forced to divert and delay flights due to poor visibility on the runway. The recent flight cancellations by IndiGo and GoAir because of engine failure and the high surge in ticket rates have turned the passengers violent as most of them started venting out their anger through the social media channels.  

IndiGo and GoAir are planning to cancel around 620 flights this month due to engine malfunction. The airlines will give passengers an option to choose an alternate flight or get a full refund. Of which 480 belongs to IndiGo will cancel 480; the rest are of GoAir. Earlier this week, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) had grounded 11 Airbus A320 neo aircraft due to recurring malfunctions in their engines.
