A regular weekly express train between Dibrugarh and Silchar will be introduced from April 8, connecting Barak and Brahmaputra valley. The new service will be jointly flagged off by chief minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal and minister of state of Railways Rajen Gohain, from Dibrugarh tomorrow, informed the Northeast Frontier Railway. The regular service of the train will start from April 16 from Dibrugarh and from Silchar on April 17. Southern railway said it will operate special fare special train between Kochuveli and Kamakhya, via Podanur, Katpadi, Perambur from April 8, to clear the extra rush towards Guwahati sector. Train No.06336 Kochuveli – Kamakhya special fare special train will leave Kochuveli at 2 pm on Sundays from April 8 to May 27 and reach Kamakhya at 8.10 am on Wednesdays. ട്രെയിനില്‍ ഇനി മുതല്‍ മധുരം ചേര്‍ക്കാത്ത കാപ്പിയും ചായയും ലഭിക്കും. ട്രെയിനുകളില്‍ പ്രമേഹരോഗികള്‍ക്കായി അവരുടെ ആവശ്യപ്രകാരം ഭക്ഷണം നല്‍കാനും പഞ്ചസാര ചേര്‍ക്കാത്ത ചായയും കാപ്പിയും നല്‍കാനും നിര്‍ദേശിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടെന്ന് കേന്ദ്രസര്‍ക്കാര്‍ അറിയിച്ചു. പഞ്ചസാരയ്ക്കുപകരം ആവശ്യമെങ്കില്‍ സൗജന്യമായി പഞ്ചസാരരഹിത മധുരപദാര്‍ഥം നല്‍കാനും നിര്‍ദേശിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. രാജ്യസഭയില്‍ ജോയ് എബ്രഹാമിന്‍റെ ചോദ്യത്തിനുള്ള മറുപടിയില്‍ റെയില്‍വേ സഹമന്ത്രി രാജന്‍ ഗൊഹേയ്ന്‍ ആണ് ഇക്കാര്യം അറിയിച്ചത്. നേരത്തേ ജോയ് എബ്രഹാം ഇതുസംബന്ധിച്ച് രാജ്യസഭയില്‍ ആവശ്യമുന്നയിച്ചിരുന്നു. തുടര്‍ന്ന് 2013 സെപ്റ്റംബര്‍ 18നും 2014 സെപ്റ്റംബര്‍ രണ്ടിനും ഐ.ആര്‍.സി.ടി.സി. മാനേജിങ് ഡയറക്ടര്‍ക്കും സോണല്‍ റെയില്‍വേ ചീഫ് കൊമേഴ്‌സ്യല്‍ മാനേജര്‍മാര്‍ക്കും റെയില്‍വേ ബോര്‍ഡ് നിര്‍ദേശം നല്‍കി. എന്നാല്‍ മിക്ക തീവണ്ടികളിലും ഇപ്പോഴും മധുരം ചേര്‍ക്കാത്ത ചായയോ കാപ്പിയോ കിട്ടാറില്ല.

The finance ministry today announced that a 5 per cent GST will be levied on food and drinks supplied by Indian Railways or Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd. or their licensees, whether in trains or at platforms (static units). The Finance Ministry has written to the Railway Board on March 31 about the 5 per cent rate to remove any doubt or uncertainty in the matter. India’s fastest train Gatimaan Express has been extended up to Bundelkhand Region w.e.f 1st April, 2018. The Train no 12049/50 Nizammuddin-Agra Cantt Gatimaan Exp. has been extended upto Gwalior/Jhansi for facilitating passengers. “The extension of this prestigious premium train will facilitate movement of tourists to various tourist attractions in and around Gwalior and Jhansi of Bundelkhand region. IRCTC is planing to launch its own digital payment gateway, which is being initially called ‘ipay’. The new payment gateway, which will be rolled out in phases after testing, is expected to be ready over the next 4-8 weeks. At present, Razorpay, Mobikwik and Paytm lead IRCTC’s railway ticket booking transactions through their gateways. The companies have to pay “a one-time licensing fee to integrate with IRCTC’s website and mobile app and in return share revenues with IRCTC on every transaction that goes through them. The licensing fee ranges from Rs 75 lakh to Rs 1 crore. Opening its doors to the common man for the first time, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) operated Railway Saloon Coach departed for its maiden tour to Katra from the Old Delhi Raiway Station with six passengers on board. India’s first saloon coach with air-conditioned rooms, attached bathrooms and valet services was earlier available for only top railway officials. In an attempt to increase passenger amenities and to give an aesthetic makeover to the most visited stations across Indian Railways, Ministry of Railways has formulated the plan to redevelop 90 stations across Indian Railways. The redevelopment plan of 90 stations is assigned to different zones/nodal agencies. Given that some stations are important pilgrimage hubs and report over 45,000 footfalls per day, Indian Railways would strive to ensure that passenger’s get best services at the stations even during peak seasons.
