The first ever Skydiving jump for Battle Casualty Veteran (leg amputee) in India was conducted by instructors and training staff of Indian Army (Army Adventure Wing) on 28 Mar 2019 at Nasik, Maharashtra by service aircraft from 9000 ft AGL. Maj DP Singh, a Kargil War veteran widely known as “Indian Blade Runner” was trained by Indian Army to perform a first ever successful Skydive endorsing the “Spirit of Adventure” for all disabled soldiers who suffered physical/war injuries in peace and war time. Cockerel Gunners’ White Water Rafting Expedition in Rishikesh
Keeping the indomitable spirit of adventure alive, soldiers of Indian Army conducted ‘Cockerel Gunners’ White Water Rafting Expedition’ at Rishikesh on 29 November 2018. The expedition commenced on 26 November 2018 wherein a team comprising of 20 adventure enthusiasts of a Medium Regiment were flagged off at Rudraprayag. After successfully traversing 150 kilometers across River Ganges over four days, the team was flagged in at Rishikesh. As part of its challenging journey, the team successfully negotiated numerous grade III and IV Rapids. EME of the Indian Army on way to Guinness World Record
Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers of the Indian Army has undertaken a unique Ultra Cycling Expedition as part of its Platinum Jubilee celebrations. The Expedition was flagged off on 15 Aug 2018 from Secunderabad and will cover a distance of 25,000 kilometres across the country passing through all states, attempting at creating the Guinness World Record of most extended distance cycling through the country.
