പാസ്പോര്ട്ട് ലഭിക്കാന്‍ വിവാഹ സര്‍ട്ടിഫിക്കേറ്റ് വേണ്ട
പാസ്പോര്ട്ട് സ്വന്തമാക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള നടപടി ക്രമങ്ങള്‍ ലളിതമാക്കുന്നതിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി വകുപ്പ് തലത്തില്‍ പുതിയ മാറ്റങ്ങള്‍ കൊണ്ട് വന്നു. പാസ്പോര്ട്ട് ലഭിക്കാന്‍ വിവാഹ സര്‍ട്ടിഫിക്കേറ്റ് ആവശ്യമില്ലെന്ന് കേന്ദ്ര വിദേശകാര്യമന്ത്രി സുഷമ സ്വരാജ് പറഞ്ഞു. പാസ്പോര്ട്ടിന് അപേക്ഷിച്ച മിശ്രവിവാഹിതരായ ദമ്പതിമാരെ പാസ്പോര്ട്ട് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥര്‍ അപമാനിക്കുകയും മതംമാറിവരാന്‍ ആവശ്യപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്ത സംഭവം വിവാദം സൃഷ്ടിച്ച പശ്ചാത്തലത്തിലാണ് മന്ത്രി ഇക്കാര്യം വ്യക്തമാക്കിയത്. ജൂണ്‍ 19ന് പാസ്പോര്ട്ടിന് അപേക്ഷിച്ച ദമ്പതികളായ തന്‍വി സേത്ത്, മുഹമദ് അനസ് സിദ്ദിഖി എന്നിവര്‍ക്കാണ് ലഖ്‌നൗവിലെ പാസ്പോര്ട്ട് ഓഫീസില്‍ കടുത്ത അവഹേളനം നേരിട്ടത്. മുസ്ലിമിനെ വിവാഹം ചെയ്തിട്ടും പേര് മാറ്റാത്ത യുവതിയോട് പാസ്പോര്ട്ട് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥന്‍ വികാസ് മിശ്ര തട്ടിക്കയറി. പാസ്പോര്ട്ട് പുതുക്കണമെങ്കില്‍ മതംമാറിയിട്ടുവരാന്‍ ഇയാള്‍ അനസ് സിദ്ദിഖിയോട് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു. സ്വന്തം ഇഷ്ടപ്രകാരം വിവാഹിതയായി 12 വര്‍ഷത്തിനുള്ളില്‍ ഇത്രയും മോശപ്പെട്ട അനുഭവം ഉണ്ടായിട്ടില്ലെന്ന് ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടി യുവതി സുഷ്മ സ്വരാജിന് പരാതി നല്‍കിയിരുന്നു. രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ വടക്ക് കിഴക്കന്‍മേഖലയില്‍ പുതിയ പാസ്പോര്ട്ട് ഓഫീസുകള്‍ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനമാരംഭിച്ചതായി മന്ത്രി അറിയിച്ചു. തങ്ങള്‍ പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ച ... Spiritual Tourism on a high in India
Indians love to spend on travel and spiritual tourism is one which is gaining attention in the country. Reports indicate a considerable growth in spiritual tourism as many Indians love visiting popular pilgrimage sites like Puri, Varanasi, Tirupati etc. The reports are based on the hotel searched and booking made at travel search engine Ixigo. Govt set to expand Buddhist tourism circuit to 21 more states
The government already had plans to have seven main Buddhist pilgrimage sites in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. Now the government plans to expand the ‘Buddhist Circuit’ to other 21 states. The states included in the plan are Kerala, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir and West Bengal. The Ministry of Tourism has already identified stupas and viharas in these states and small intrastate Buddhist zones will be made around these. Ministry proposes special tourism package for North East
The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER) has asked the Finance Ministry to allot funds and special packages for the development of tourism in North Eastern states. The proposal for funds and package was confirmed by Department of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Minister Jitendra Singh on Friday after a meeting with Union Tourism Minister Alphons Kannamthanam. As per reports, the ministers discussed about recognizing new projects stressing the development of tourism in Northeastern states. Villivakkam lake to be an eco-tourist spot soon
One more eco-tourist spot to be adorned in Tamil Nadu as the works for developing the Villivakkam lake into an eco-tourist spot officially began on Wednesday. The project was inaugurated by S P Velumani, the Minister for Municipal Administration. The lake that has of total area of 36.50 acres will have its 24.64 acres developed into an eco-tourist spot. India’s visa-free policy brings more tourists to Myanmar
Myanmar Travellers from Myanmar to India have reportedly gone up by more than 10% last year when compared to 2016. The free visa to Myanmar citizens was declared by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his visit to Myanmar in last September and the free visa policy was initiated that month itself. Most travellers from Myanmar are reportedly visiting Bodh Gaya. Around 30,000 pilgrims used to visit annual Bodh Gaya festival every year and now more than 50,000 pilgrims from Myanmar came to attend the festival in 2017. Global tourism has a bigger share of Carbon Emissions than thought
The carbon footprint of tourism is about four times larger than previously thought, according to a world-first study published in Nature Climate Change. The researchers worked to assess the entire supply chain of tourism, which includes transportation, accommodation, food and beverages, souvenirs, clothing, cosmetics and other goods. Altogether, global tourism produces about 8 per cent of global greenhouse gas emissions, much more than previous estimates. The study, published in Nature Climate Change, estimates that global tourism produced about 4.5 billion tons of carbon dioxide equivalent in 2013.
