Tourist influx to the tourist destinations in Idukki district. In the last two days, more than double the number of people reached various centers in the Idukki district. Over 4,100 people visited the dam on Saturday and Sunday. Of these, 3,000 were visited on Sundays alone. On the day of Thiruvonam, 1750 people came to Rajamalai in Eravikulam National Park. Munnar, Vagamon, Thekkady, and Ramakkalmedu were also busy these days. The crisis-stricken tourism sector also got relief from the arrival of tourists. The sun shines over the God’s Own Country, not knowing about the Indian Meteorological Department’s (IMD) weather warning issued across the state sighting chances of incessant rains. However, looking at the clear sky, the IMD withdrew red alert for rains and landslides across Kerala, which they had issued earlier this week. The IMD had predicted excessive rainfall across Kerala, followed by which red alert have been issued in Palakkad, Thrissur and Idukki districts of Kerala. The Idukki district administration in Kerala has lifted the ban on Munnar, and Thekkady, including other tourist destinations. Effective from October 9 (Tuesday), travellers can access any of the tourist destinations including the Neelakurinji gardens. Earlier, the district administration has banned tourism and late night travel in the district starting October 5, in view of the heavy to very heavy rain forecast in Kerala and Lakshadweep in the next two-three days. Ban on tourism and operations of heavy vehicles in Idukki, imposed by an advisory on 9th September 2018 has been lifted with effect from 31st August 2018. The new advisory issued by Jeevan Babu,  District Collector of Idukki, on behalf of the District Disaster Management Authority, states that the advisory banning tourism and operations of heavy vehicles in the Idukki District has been revoked by this order. All the tourists including 30 foreign tourists who were trapped following a landslide in the Plum Judy Resort in Munnar are safe, informed Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran. The minister has also urged the authorities to shift the tourists from Idukki to a safer place. The minister gave instructions to the resort owners and also spoke to the foreigners who were trapped inside and assured all the possible help from the government. സഞ്ചാരികള്‍ അധികമൊന്നും കേട്ടില്ലാത്ത ഒരു പേരാണ് ഞണ്ടിറുക്കി വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടം. അതിമനോഹരമായ ഈ വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടം അധികമാരും ശ്രദ്ധിക്കപ്പെടാതെ പോകുന്നതിതിന്റെ കാരണം വേനലില്‍ ഇത് അപ്രത്യക്ഷമാകുന്നതുകൊണ്ടാവാം. എന്നാല്‍ ഒരു തവണ കണ്ട ഏതൊരാള്‍ക്കും മറക്കാനാവാത്ത കാഴ്ച സമ്മാനിക്കുന്ന ഒന്നാണ് ഇടുക്കി തൊടുപുഴയിലെ വെള്ളിയാമറ്റം പഞ്ചായത്തിലെ ഞണ്ടിറുക്കി വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടം. തൊടുപുഴയില്‍ നിന്നും 19 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ അകലെയുള്ള പൂമാലയിലെത്തിയാല്‍ നടന്നെത്താവുന്ന ദൂരത്തിലാണ് ഞണ്ടിറുക്കി വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടം. പൂമാലക്ക് രണ്ട് ജംങ്ഷനുകളുണ്ട്. തൊടുപുഴയില്‍ നിന്നും വരുമ്പോള്‍ പൂമാല സ്വാമിക്കവല എന്ന ജംങ്ഷനും കടന്ന് ഏകദേശം ഒരു കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ പിന്നിടുമ്പോള്‍ ഗവണ്‍മെന്റ് ട്രൈബല്‍ സ്‌കൂള്‍ കവലയിലെത്തും. ഇവിടെ വരെയാണ് സാധാരണ തൊടുപുഴ – പൂമാല സര്‍വീസ് നടത്തുന്ന ബസുകള്‍ ഉണ്ടാവുക. ബസ്സിറങ്ങിയ ശേഷം താഴേക്കുള്ള റോഡിലൂടെ 500 മീറ്ററോളം പോയാല്‍ വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടത്തിന്റെ താഴെ നിന്നുള്ള ഭംഗി ആസ്വദിക്കാം. വെള്ളം ഒഴുകിയെത്തുന്ന പാറക്കൂട്ടങ്ങളുടെ ഇടതുവശത്തുകൂടി മുകളിലേക്ക് കയറാന്‍ പടികളുമുണ്ട്. പടികള്‍ കയറി 400 മീറ്ററോളം മുകളിലേക്ക് നടന്നാല്‍ ചെങ്കുത്തായി വെള്ളം പതിക്കുന്നതിനു ചുവട്ടിലെത്താം. ... First quarter of the tourism year depicted substantial increase in the number of tourists in Kerala. Number of tourists (local and foreign) during the first three months of the year shows 17.87% increase than the previous year. 6,54,854 more  tourists visited Kerala during this period, which is the highest rate of increase since a decade. കനത്ത മഴമൂലം അടച്ചിട്ടിരുന്ന രാജമല സന്ദര്‍ശകര്‍ക്കായി തുറന്നു. വരയാടുകളുടെ ആവാസ കേന്ദ്രമായ ഇരവികുളം ദേശീയോദ്യാനത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായ രാജമലയാണ് ശക്തമായ കാറ്റും മഴയും കാരണം ഒരാഴ്ചയായി അടച്ചിരുന്നത്. മഴ കുറഞ്ഞതിനെ തുടര്‍ന്നാണ് വ്യാഴാഴ്ച മുതല്‍ വീണ്ടും ഉദ്യാനം തുറന്നുകൊടുത്തത്. കുണ്ടള അണക്കെട്ടില്‍ ബോട്ടിങ് പുനരാരംഭിച്ചു. ഇവിടെയെത്തുന്ന സന്ദര്‍ശകര്‍ക്കായി സോളാര്‍ ബോട്ടും പെഡല്‍ ബോട്ടും ഒരുക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. പഴയ മൂന്നാറില്‍ പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്ന ഹൈഡല്‍ പാര്‍ക്കും സന്ദര്‍ശകര്‍ക്കായി തുറന്നു കൊടുത്തു.

വാഗമണ്ണിലെ വിനോദസഞ്ചാര കേന്ദ്രമായ ഉളുപ്പൂണിലേക്കുള്ള ഓഫ് റോഡ് ട്രെക്കിങ് വനം വകുപ്പ് നിരോധിച്ചു. വനമേഖലയും അതിനോട് ചേര്‍ന്ന് നില്‍ക്കുന്ന വെള്ളാരംക്കല്ല്, ടണല്‍, വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടം തുടങ്ങിയ സ്ഥലങ്ങളിലേക്കുമുള്ള വാഹന സഞ്ചാരമാണ് നിര്‍ത്തിവെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്.   ഇതോടെ ഡ്രൈവിങ് സാഹസികത തേടി ഹൈറേഞ്ചിലെത്തുന്ന സഞ്ചാരികള്‍ നിരാശയോടെ മടങ്ങേണ്ടി വരും. ദിവസേന നൂറുകണക്കിന് ആളുകളാണ് ഓഫ് റോഡ് െട്രക്കിങ് അനുഭവം ആസ്വദിക്കുന്നതിനായി വാഗമണ്ണില്‍ എത്തിയിരുന്നത്. നൂറോളം വാഹനങ്ങളും ഇവിടെ സര്‍വീസ് നടത്തിയിരുന്നു. ഓഫ് റോഡ് െട്രക്കിങ്ങിനെത്തുന്ന വാഹനങ്ങള്‍ തങ്ങളുടെ സൈ്വരജീവിതത്തിനും സഞ്ചാര സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തിനും തടസ്സമാകുന്നുവെന്നും വനം നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നുവെന്നും കാണിച്ച് പ്രദേശവാസികളും ആദിവാസികളും അടങ്ങുന്ന 400 പേര്‍ ഒപ്പിട്ട പരാതി വനംവകുപ്പിന് ലഭിച്ചിരുന്നു. വനംവകുപ്പ് നടത്തിയ അന്വേഷണത്തില്‍ ഇത് ബോധ്യമായതിനെത്തുടര്‍ന്നാണ് നടപടി. വാഹനം കയറ്റുന്നത് നിരോധിച്ചതായി ബോര്‍ഡുകള്‍ സ്ഥാപിക്കാനാണ് വനംവകുപ്പ് നീക്കം. മുന്നറിയിപ്പ് ലംഘിച്ച് വാഹനം കയറ്റിയാല്‍ വനം നിയമപ്രകാരം നടപടിയുണ്ടാകുമെന്നും അറിയിപ്പുണ്ട്. കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസങ്ങളില്‍ വിനോദസഞ്ചാര കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളായ രാമക്കല്‍മേട്, സത്രം എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലെ ഓഫ് റോഡ് ട്രെക്കിങ് നിരോധിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് ...
