ASI facilitates online booking for monuments
Delighting news for those who love a bit of history! The tourists who wish to visit historic monuments in the country can now book the tickets from mobile phones. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has signed MoU with Yatra.com and BookMyShow, which will allow the foreign and domestic tourists online for the listed 141 historical monuments, sites and museums in India. The list includes the famed Taj Mahal, Red Fort, Sun Temple, Qutub Minar, Ajanta and Ellora caves etc. The online booking move is to support government’s ‘Digital India’ initiative. Govt approves upgradation of 100 Adarsh monuments
Bhuddhist Remains in Salihundam The Union Minister of State (IC) for Culture and Minister of State for Environment, Forest & Climate Change Dr. Mahesh Sharma, has announced the plans for upgradation of 100 Adarsh monuments of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). Tourist amenities proposed to be upgraded include the parking, ticket counter, publication counter, cafeteria, toilet block, drinking water facilities, dustbins, benches, ramps (for the differently-abled), pathways, singages, etc. There are around 25 monuments under Phase I and 75 under Phase II.
