Israeli tourism sector has been showing a growing trend during the year 2018. Nearly 4 million visitors have visited the historical country, since the beginning of the year. Around 389,000 tourists visited Israel in November alone, as per reports. Israel Tourism has set a new record for tourist arrival in the current year. It was announced by the The Ministry of Tourism on Friday. 3.6 million tourists have visited Israel during the year 2017. This follows a record set in October 2018 for the most visitors and pilgrims to Israel in one month – nearly 500,000, which broke the previous all-time incoming tourism set in April 2018 by almost 20 per cent. Israel’s Ministry of Tourism (IMOT) is planning to increase its services in Kerala to woo more tourists from the state to the Jewish state. Hassan Madah, IMOT – India and Philippines- Director was in Kochi on Thursday, 15th November 2018, as part of a road-show to promote Israel’s tourism. As per the Direcotr, Arkia Israeli Airlines has expressed interest in operating regular direct flights from South Indian cities, including Kochi, to Israel. With an aim to enhance commercial ties with the Indian travel trade fraternity, Israel Ministry of Tourism (IMOT) has conducted a roadshow in Kolkata on August 29. A 20-member delegation, comprising of destination management companies (DMCs) from Israel, interacted with over 100 key travel and tour operators, MICE providers, up-market leisure operators and media personnel during the event. The ministry has also conducted another road show in the capital city of New Delhi on 30th August, 2018.
