Surajkund International Crafts Mela begins in Haryana
The curtains go up on the acclaimed annual Surajkund International Crafts Mela from 2nd February onward in Haryana, a celebration of Indian folk traditions and cultural heritage. The event will conclude on 17th February. The Mela is organized by the Surajkund Mela Authority and Haryana Tourism in collaboration with Union Ministries of Tourism, Textiles, Culture and External Affairs. At least 20 countries and all the states of India will be participating in the Mela. This laser show in Rohtak depicts stories from Mahabharata
Alphons K J inaugurating the laser show in Rohtak on September 12 We all might have seen numerous laser shows, but this one in Rohtak is something special. The show, organised by tourism department, depicts the story from Mahabharata to the 1857 revolution. The first laser show was inaugurated by Union Tourism Minister K J Alphons at Rohtak’s Tilial lake on September 12. Earthquake in Haryana,tremors felt in parts of Delhi
Tremors were felt in Delhi and the National Capital Region today morning after mild earthquake in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said. The earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale struck 6 km from Kharkhauda in Meerut, at 6.28 am, it said. No loss of life or damage to property have been reported so far. Another medium intensity quake hit Haryana’s Jhajjar district and the tremors were also felt in Delhi. The earthquake occurred at 6.28 am today at a depth of 10 km and had a magnitude of 3.7. South Haryana heritage circuit to be developed as global tourist destination
The Madhogarh-Mahendragarh- Narnaul-Rewari heritage circuit in south Haryana would soon be developed as a global tourism destination under the central government’s Swadesh Darshan Scheme, said Haryana Tourism Minister Ram Bilas Sharma. The minister also said that a sum of Rs 100 crore would be spent on developing the circuit. The state tourism minister had discussed the matter with Union Minister of State for Tourism K J Alphons in Delhi recently. Haryana strengthens infrastructure to promote religious tourism
The Haryana government said it is planning to strengthen its infrastructure to promote religious tourism related to Kurukshetra. The Haryana Tourism Department is reported to have decided to spend Rs 38.31 crore on the beautification of ‘Brahm Sarover’ and Rs 32.33 crore on ‘Jyotisar’ under various schemes. Under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme of the central government, an amount of Rs 97.34 crore had been allocated for the ‘Sri Krishna Circuit’ out of which Rs 32 crore had been spent on the development of Brahma Sarovar, Jyotisar, Narkaataari, Sanniihit Sarovar and beautification of the Kurukshetra city. ഹരിയാനയില് കാര്ഷിക ടൂറിസം തുടങ്ങാന് സര്ക്കാര് പദ്ധതി. പദ്ധതിയുടെ ഭാഗമായി സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് 340 ബജ്വാനി ഗ്രാമങ്ങള് സ്ഥാപിക്കുമെന്ന് ഹരിയാന കൃഷിമന്ത്രി ഒ.പി ധങ്കര് പറഞ്ഞു. കൂണ്കൃഷി, തേനീച്ച വളര്ത്തല്, പൂന്തോട്ട നിര്മാണം തുടങ്ങിയ പദ്ധതികളാണ് ബജ്വാനി ഗ്രാമങ്ങളില് സഞ്ചാരികള്ക്ക് വേണ്ടി ഒരുക്കുക. കൂടാതെ സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് കാര്ഷിക വിപണികള് വര്ധിപ്പിക്കാനും ആലോചനയിലുണ്ട്. ഇത് കര്ഷകരെ സഹായിക്കാനാണെന്ന് മന്ത്രി പറഞ്ഞു. സോണിപറ്റിലെ ഗണൌറില് തുടങ്ങുന്ന ഹോര്ട്ടികള്ച്ചര് വിപണനകേന്ദ്രം സര്ക്കാറിന്റെ സ്വപ്നപദ്ധതിയാണെന്നും ഏപ്രിലില് ഇതിനു തുടക്കമിടുമെന്നും മന്ത്രി കൂട്ടിച്ചേര്ത്തു. ഹരിയാനയില് ജൈവകൃഷി പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കാനും സര്ക്കാറിന്റെ പദ്ധതിയിലുണ്ട്.
Haryana plans agri-tourism
Haryana is planning to launch agri-tourism in the state. The state is also planning to set up 340 ‘Bagawani Villages’ along with collection centres, said Haryana Agriculture Minister O P Dhankar. The minister was talking in connection with 3rd Agri Leadership Summit-2018 to be organised at Mela Ground, Rohtak from March 24 to 26. The government also planning to increase the number of Kisan Bazar to facilitate the farming community in the state.
