Haryana is not a hotspot on most people’s tourism maps. But a good look into what Haryana can offer, can draw domestic tourists towards the state. The Ministry of Tourism had organised a webinar on “Haryana: Culture, Cuisine and Tourism” showcasing the rich and varied heritage of Haryana, as part of its Dekho Apna Desh series. The Haryana Tourism Corporation will run six liquor shops in Gurugram as a pilot project starting today. Officials said that it is the first time that a state government entity will be operating liquor vends in the district. The decision was taken by the state government after the tourism department suffered huge losses due to closure of tourism complexes and guest houses during the lockdown imposed to contain the spread of Covid-19. The Bhindawas bird sanctuary in Jhajjar, the largest wetland of Haryana, will get a face-lift to promote tourism. The area spread over 1,017 acres will be developed to attract both domestic and foreign tourists and provide a good habitat with a plenty of food to migratory birds for breeding. As per records, thousands of birds of around 150 species from several countries flock to the sanctuary during the winter. The curtains go up on the acclaimed annual Surajkund International Crafts Mela from 2nd February onward in Haryana, a celebration of Indian folk traditions and cultural heritage. The event will conclude on 17th February. The Mela is organized by the Surajkund Mela Authority and Haryana Tourism in collaboration with Union Ministries of Tourism, Textiles, Culture and External Affairs. At least 20 countries and all the states of India will be participating in the Mela. ഹരിയാനയില്‍ കാര്‍ഷിക ടൂറിസം തുടങ്ങാന്‍ സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ പദ്ധതി. പദ്ധതിയുടെ ഭാഗമായി സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് 340 ബജ്വാനി ഗ്രാമങ്ങള്‍ സ്ഥാപിക്കുമെന്ന് ഹരിയാന കൃഷിമന്ത്രി ഒ.പി ധങ്കര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. കൂണ്‍കൃഷി, തേനീച്ച വളര്‍ത്തല്‍, പൂന്തോട്ട നിര്‍മാണം തുടങ്ങിയ പദ്ധതികളാണ് ബജ്വാനി ഗ്രാമങ്ങളില്‍ സഞ്ചാരികള്‍ക്ക് വേണ്ടി ഒരുക്കുക. കൂടാതെ സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് കാര്‍ഷിക വിപണികള്‍ വര്‍ധിപ്പിക്കാനും ആലോചനയിലുണ്ട്. ഇത് കര്‍ഷകരെ സഹായിക്കാനാണെന്ന് മന്ത്രി പറഞ്ഞു. സോണിപറ്റിലെ ഗണൌറില്‍ തുടങ്ങുന്ന ഹോര്‍ട്ടികള്‍ച്ചര്‍ വിപണനകേന്ദ്രം സര്‍ക്കാറിന്‍റെ സ്വപ്നപദ്ധതിയാണെന്നും ഏപ്രിലില്‍ ഇതിനു തുടക്കമിടുമെന്നും മന്ത്രി കൂട്ടിച്ചേര്‍ത്തു. ഹരിയാനയില്‍ ജൈവകൃഷി പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കാനും സര്‍ക്കാറിന്‍റെ പദ്ധതിയിലുണ്ട്.

Haryana is planning to launch agri-tourism in the state. The state is also planning to set up 340 ‘Bagawani Villages’ along with collection centres, said Haryana Agriculture Minister O P Dhankar. The minister was talking in connection with 3rd Agri Leadership Summit-2018 to be organised at Mela Ground, Rohtak from March 24 to 26. The government also planning to increase the number of Kisan Bazar to facilitate the farming community in the state. Haryana Tourism is all set for the 32nd ‘Surajkund International Crafts Mela’, to be held from 2nd to 18th February at Faridabad this year. The fest is all about showcasing the abundance of distinct handicrafts, handlooms and cultural fabric of India followed by a display of colours, rhythm and drum beats. More than 15 lakh domestic and international visitors are expected this year marking Surajkund Craft Mela as the largest craft fair in the world.
