Goa restructures the committee on tourism plan
The government of Goa has re-formed the committee to evaluate the progress of the works on preparation of a master plan and tourism policy for the state. The work has been assigned to the renowned consultants, M/s. KPMG Advisory Services Private Limited of Spain. The 12 member committee will be headed by the Tourism Secretary, with association of the Additional Secretary of Finance. The committee will also have the Managing Director of Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC), Member Secretary of Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA), the President of Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry etc. The objective of the ... Goa Tourism launches taxi app ‘GOAMILES’
Goa Tourism Development Corporation’s (GTDC) taxi app ‘GOAMILES’ is all set to launch in July. The app is in final stages of testing in actual conditions. 2800 licensed taxi drivers in Goa have already expressed interest in using the app and the number is expected to grow further as passenger demands swell. White water rafting on Mhadei river restarts
Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) said it has recommenced its white water rafting activity on Mhadei river till September this year. There will be two rafting trips held each day with the first trip starting at 9:30 am and the second at 2:30 pm. Each trip will go on for 2.5 to 3.5 hours running 10 km each. For white water rafting, people are needed to assemble at The Earthen Pot Restaurant in Valpoi. There will be a 25-minute drive and a 10-minute walk from there to the Mhadei river valley. Goa Vintage Bike and Car Festival on April 29
The Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) is organising the 2nd edition of the Goa Vintage Bike and Car Festival to celebrate the Goa’s rich history of automobiles. The event will display entries from Goa as well as from other parts of the country at the Inox Courtyard – an iconic heritage structure that dates back to the 1800s. The event has been curated by Ashvek Vintage World and is supported by the VCCFI (Vintage and Classic Car Federation of India).
