Tourist influx to the tourist destinations in Idukki district. In the last two days, more than double the number of people reached various centers in the Idukki district. Over 4,100 people visited the dam on Saturday and Sunday. Of these, 3,000 were visited on Sundays alone. On the day of Thiruvonam, 1750 people came to Rajamalai in Eravikulam National Park. Munnar, Vagamon, Thekkady, and Ramakkalmedu were also busy these days. The crisis-stricken tourism sector also got relief from the arrival of tourists. Kerala Tourism has launched a micro website with the details of ecotourism centers in Kerala. Kadakampally Surendran, Tourism Minister inaugurated the website on 27th October 2018. The web site has information of 47 eco-tourism centers and hundreds of details in 35 eco-tourism centers, 75 videos, over 200 images and e-brochures containing more than 30 pages of 10 centers. The website has more than 500 pages. The web site also gives details of various trekking routs, which will be beneficial to adventure lovers. After the slowdown of inbound tourists due to the rain and floods, Munnar is in a revival mode, following the widespread blooming of Neelakurinji, the purple-blue flower, which blooms once in 12 years. It is said to be a plantation without pesticides and chemical application and the tea from Kolukkumail is said to be of high quality and taste. The floods in Kerala had washed away the Periyavara bridge on the Munnar – Marayoor route, there by stopping all kinds of transportation between the two places. The bridge connecting tourists to Rajamal tourists zone and the Eravikulam nation park was the only access for the tourists to reach Rajamala to watch the mass blooming of Neelakurinji. To the delight of the visitors in Western Ghats, Neelakurji flowers have bloomed in Vettaikkaran hills near Kanthalloor. Almost every valleys of the area are adorn with blue blooms, though not that expensive as in the seasons. People can reach Ottamala region of Vettaikaran Kovil by jeep from Kanthaloor town. After the rain and floods, Neelakurinji in Rajamala started blooming. This time, flowers are bloomed in a scattered manner, than the usual extensive blooming along the valley to make it a blue-purple carpet. As per experts, if the sun would shine unceasingly in the days to come, there could be extensive blooming. The season may prolong until October. The Neelakurinji season has started and will last till November. Those who wish to visit Munnar during the Kurinji season can visit the Eravikulam National Park to spot the flowers which blossoms once in 12 years. Visitors will be allowed between 7 am and 4 pm. The state tourism department has made special arrangements for the visitors to book online tickets and pre-registered booking facilities. 75 per cent of the tickets will be distributed online and the rest 25 per cent will be distributed direct. ഇരവികുളം ദേശീയ ഉദ്യാനത്തിലെ വരയാടുകളുടെ സെന്‍സസുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് പാമ്പാറ്റിലെ ലാക്കം വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടത്തിലേക്കുള്ള സഞ്ചാരികളുടെ പ്രവേശനത്തിന് നിരോധനം ഏര്‍പ്പെടുത്തി. ഇന്നു മുതല്‍ 29 വരെയാണ് നിരോധനം. ആഴ്ചയുടെ അവാസന ദിവസങ്ങളില്‍ രണ്ടായിരത്തി അഞ്ഞൂറോളം സഞ്ചാരികളാണ് വനം വകുപ്പിന്‍റെ നിയന്ത്രണത്തിലുള്ള വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടം ആസ്വദിക്കാന്‍ എത്തുന്നത്. എന്നാല്‍ ഇരവികുളം നാഷണല്‍ പാര്‍ക്ക് സന്ദര്‍ശിക്കുന്നതിന് നിയന്ത്രണങ്ങള്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കുന്നതല്ലെന്ന് മൂന്നാര്‍ വൈല്‍ഡ് ലൈഫ് വാര്‍ഡന്‍ ആര്‍ ലക്ഷമി അറിയിച്ചു.

The long-awaited ‘neelakurinji’ season is all set to begin from August to November.  Munnar town and nearby areas are preparing to receive the tens of thousands of visitors who would be flocking the hills of Munnar to experience the ‘neelakurinji’ season. As per the official data, around eight lakh visitors are expected in Munnar during the ‘neelakurinji’ season. ഇരവികുളം ദേശീയോദ്യാനം 16ന് തുറക്കും. വരയാടുകളുടെ പ്രജനന കാലമായ ഫെബ്രുവരി, മാർച്ച് മാസങ്ങളിൽ   ഇവിടെ സന്ദര്‍ശകരെ അനുവദിച്ചിരുന്നില്ല. പശ്ചിമഘട്ട മലനിരകളിലെ ആനമുടിയുടെ താഴ്‌വരയായ രാജമലയിലേക്കുള്ള സന്ദർശക വിലക്ക് മൂലം മൂന്നാറിലേക്കുള്ള വിനോദസഞ്ചാരികളുടെ വരവിൽ 50 ശതമാനത്തിന്‍റെ കുറവാണ് രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയത്. 16നു രാജമല ഉൾപ്പെട്ട ഇരവികുളം ദേശീയോദ്യാനം വീണ്ടും തുറക്കുന്നതോടെ സഞ്ചാരികളുടെ വരവിൽ കാര്യമായ വർധനവാണ് ടൂറിസം മേഖല പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കുന്നത്.

വരയാടുകളുടെ പ്രസവകാലത്തെത്തുടര്‍ന്ന് അടച്ച രാജമല ഉദ്യാനം ഏപ്രില്‍ 15-നു തുറക്കും. ഫെബ്രുവരി ഒന്നിനാണ് രാജമല അടച്ചത്. ഏപ്രില്‍ ഒന്നിന് സഞ്ചാരികള്‍ക്കായി തുറന്നുകൊടുക്കാന്‍ തീരുമാനിച്ചിരുന്നു. എന്നാല്‍, ഗര്‍ഭിണികളായ ആടുകളെ കൂടുതലായി കണ്ടതോടെയാണ് സന്ദര്‍ശകനിരോധനം ഏപ്രില്‍ 15 വരെ നീട്ടാന്‍ വനംവകുപ്പ് തീരുമാനിച്ചത്. ഇക്കാര്യം കാണിച്ച് മൂന്നാര്‍ വൈല്‍ഡ് ലൈഫ് വാര്‍ഡന്‍ ആര്‍.ലക്ഷ്മി, ചീഫ് വൈല്‍ഡ് ലൈഫ് വാര്‍ഡന് റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടു നല്‍കി. ഇരവികുളം ദേശീയോദ്യാനത്തില്‍ ഈ സീസണില്‍ ഇതുവരെ 40 വരയാട്ടിന്‍കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ കണ്ടെത്തിയെന്നും ഉള്‍പ്രദേശങ്ങളില്‍ കൂടുതല്‍ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങള്‍ ഉണ്ടാകുമെന്നും വാര്‍ഡന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.
