The long-postponed and much-awaited elections for the Indian Association of Tour Operators IATO elections were held on 06 March’21. The elections initially were scheduled to be held in April 2020 but could not be conducted due to COVID-19. Prominent Tourism Trade body of Kerala, Confederation of Kerala Tourism Industry (CKTI) has requested the state government to allow free entry for domestic tourists to the state without mandatory quarantine rules upon arrival. CKTI  in a letter to the Chief Secretary of Kerala has complained that the current guidelines for visitors, which specifies mandatory quarantine for visitors, is not at all helping the revival process of tourism in the state, mainly the domestic market.
