Kerala tourism industry takes hard stance against enforced hartals

E M Najeeb, Jose Dominic, Abraham George, Baby Mathew and Riyaz Ahmed Tourism industry of Kerala is taking strong stand against frequent hartals (strikes) in the state. In order to convey their protest and to take necessary steps to alleviate the losses caused by surprise strikes and the related issues, Kerala Travel Mart (KTM) has initiated the Kerala Tourism Task Force, which would handle the issues related to hartals hereafter. K J Alphons, Minister for Tourism, Govt of India arrives at Vizag for the IATO convention The 34th Annual Convention of Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) kick-starts at Novotel in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The annual convention held from September 6 to 9, 2018, is conducted under the patronage of the Chief Minister N Chandra Babu Naidu. The minister will inaugurate the India Travel Mart at 6 pm at the hotel. The previous two conventions were held in Hyderabad in 1997 and 2003, both were inaugurated by the Chief Minister himself. Kerala reconstitutes Tourism Advisory Committee

Government of Kerala has reconstituted the State Tourism Advisory Committee headed by Kadakampally Surendran, Minister for Tourism, for the period of 2018-2020. The new committee has four new members from Thiruvananthapuram along with the existing 18 members from the Travel and tourism industry in the outgoing committee constituted in 2016.
