ദുബൈ സഫാരിയില് പുതിയ അതിഥികള്
ലോക കാഴ്ചകളുടെ വന്യസൗന്ദര്യവുമായി ദുബൈ സഫാരിയില് പുതിയ അതിഥികള് എത്തി. 175 കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളുടെ ഉള്പ്പെടെ 30 ഇനം മൃഗങ്ങളാണ് സഫാരിയിലെ താരങ്ങള്. ആഫ്രിക്കന് മലനിരകളില് നിന്നുള്ള കരിങ്കുരങ്ങുകള്, പിരിയന് കൊമ്പുകളുള്ള 22 കറുത്ത കൃഷ്ണമൃഗങ്ങള്, മൂന്ന് അറേബ്യന് ചെന്നായ്ക്കള്, വടക്കന് അമേരിക്കന് ഇനമായ പുള്ളികളോടു കൂടിയ 12 പാമ്പുകള്, രണ്ടു നൈല് മുതലകള്, അഞ്ച് ഈജിപ്ഷ്യന് വവ്വാലുകള്, വുഡ് ഡക്ക്, 24 ആഫ്രിക്കന് ആമകള്, വെള്ള സിംഹങ്ങള്, കാട്ടുപോത്ത് കൂറ്റന് കൊമ്പുള്ള കാട്ടാടുകള് എന്നിവയാണ് പുതിയ അതിഥികള്. അല് വര്ഖ 5 ഡിസ്ട്രിക്ടില് ഡ്രാഗന് മാര്ട്ടിനു സമീപമുള്ള സഫാരിയില് രാവിലെ ഒന്പതു മുതല് വൈകിട്ട് ഏഴുവരെയാണു പ്രവേശനം. തിങ്കള്, ബുധന് ദിവസങ്ങളില് കുടുംബമായി വരുന്നവര്ക്കു മാത്രം. സഫാരി വൈവിധ്യങ്ങളാല് വളരുകയാണെന്നു ദുബായ് മുനിസിപ്പാലിറ്റി ഡയറക്ടര് (ലീഷര് ഫെസിലിറ്റീസ്) ഖാലിദ് അല് സുവൈദി പറഞ്ഞു. അപൂര്വയിനം മൃഗങ്ങളാണ് സഫാരിയിലുള്ളത്. ഇവയില് പലയിനങ്ങളും വംശനാശഭീഷണി നേരിടുന്നവയാണ്. ഇവയ്ക്ക് ഏറ്റവും സുരക്ഷിതവും സുഖകരവുമായ സ്വാഭാവിക ആവാസവ്യവസ്ഥയൊരുക്കുന്നതായും ... Dubai Airports welcomes inaugural SaudiGulf flight
Dubai Airports welcomed the inaugural flight of SaudiGulf Airlines at Dubai International’s (DXB) Terminal 1 with a traditional water salute followed by a cake cutting ceremony. SaudiGulf will operate double daily flights between the Saudi capital of Riyadh and Dubai. Riyadh is among the top ten city destinations for DXB in terms of traffic with more than 1.85 million passengers flying between the two cities in 2017.
Dubai Culture launches eighth edition of ‘Live Our Heritage Festival’
Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirate’s dedicated entity for culture, arts and heritage, launched the eight edition of the ‘Live Our Heritage Festival’ in the Global Village under ‘An Eye on Emirati Cultural Heritage’ theme. Running until 7th April 2018, the festival offers Global Village visitors a chance to enjoy an action-packed six-week programme of workshops and events focused on handicraft education in the UAE. Smart pedestrian signals in 15 new locations
The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has widened the scope of the Smart Pedestrian Signals Project in Dubai to cover 15 new locations after a successful trail debut on Al Saadah Street. The project is part of RTA’s efforts to realize the objectives of the Smart City initiative. Passenger traffic at Dubai Airport reaches 7.9 million in Jan
Passenger traffic at Dubai International (DXB) exceeded 7.9 million in January, according to the traffic report issued by operator Dubai Airports. DXB welcomed a total of 7,960,146 passengers in January, a small reduction of 1 per cent compared to 8,037,008 recorded in January 2017 when passenger volumes were boosted due to Chinese New Year which fell in February this year. South America was the top region in terms of percentage growth* during the month (22.6%), followed by CIS (19.7%) – with a bulk of the increase resulting from the surge on routes like Moscow, Baku, and Kazan among others, and Africa ... Dubai celebrates National Day of Kuwait
A large number of Kuwaiti nationals and people from many other nationalities participated in grand celebrations held in Dubai marking Kuwait’s National Day on 25 February. The celebrations featured concerts by Miami Band from Kuwait and singer Bader AlShaibi, a culinary session by famous Kuwaiti chef, Jameela Al Lenqawi, an appearance by popular Kuwaiti foodie influencer, Talal Al Rashed, in addition to a spectacular fireworks show and cultural activities including performances by traditional bands. During a dinner hosted by influencer Al Rashed, Emirati artiste Omar Al Marzooqi performed a special song to celebrate Kuwait’s National Day.
UAE to host conference on wetlands in October
The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and the Ramsar Convention Secretariat have signed an agreement to host a major conference on wetlands in October in Dubai in October. The ‘Meeting of the Conference of the Contracting Parties to the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands (COP13)’ will be hosted in cooperation with Dubai Municipality, the official sponsor, from October 21 to 30. UAE: Rainy, dusty weather until Friday
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said the weather is expected to be frequently partly cloudy with different formations of clouds moving from central Saudi Arabia towards Dubai, in the coming days. It has also alerted the citizens to take precautions while driving in rainy conditions and poor visibility due to blowing sand or dust during the next three days. The NCM also asked the public to stay away from water gatherings, especially near the highlands. Dubai to launch world’s first ‘MasterChef’ restaurant

The restaurant will be launched in The First Group’s forthcoming Wyndham West Bay Dubai Marina Hotel, which is scheduled to open in the second half of 2018. Burj Khalifa invites artists to showcase on its LED facade
Burj Khalifa in Dubai is inviting artists to showcase their work on its brand-new LED facade, which has been the centre of attraction of the ‘Light Up 2018’ Downtown Dubai spectacle. Designers and artists can compete by presenting their proposals and have their work displayed on the new facade. Artists from any nationality can submit the work. Dubai Tour back on track

The race will see teams of cyclists from all over the world flocking to Dubai to take part. There will be five days of races that will see them cycling more than 850 km all over the UAE – through Hatta, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah. Dubai breaks world record for largest cup of hot tea
Dubai breaks another world record by making “the largest cup of hot tea”. The “tea cup” has a height of 3.66 metres, a top inner diameter of 1.42 metres, and is capable of holding a volume of 5,000 litres. A total of 120 chefs participated in the challenge at Global Village on Thursday. 155 kilograms of tea-leaf powder, 270 kilograms of milk powder, 360 kilograms of sugar, ginger and cinnamon were used to fill the cup. New urban destination ‘The Yard’ opens in Dubai
The Yard, a new urban space opens at Al Khawaneej area in Dubai. The Yard was open to public on January 25, 2018. Encompassing Last Exit D89, the trendy hipster food truck, which launched in 2017 as an initial phase, The Yard features minimalistc, contemporary design to suit the urban needs. The Yard is billed as a ‘suburban hideaway’.
