Dubai Tourism has teamed up with Snapchat with the aim to remind travellers of the fantastic weather in the Middle East and showcase all the top attractions virtually. Currently Dubai is preparing to welcome back tourists from July 7. UAE residents can now travel freely across the country throughout the day, as national sterilisation project comes to an end
The UAE has completed its national sterilisation programme and lifted all movement restrictions effective Wednesday. This means residents can travel freely across the country any time of the day, Khaleej Times has reported. Earlier, they were required to stay home during the national sterilisation programme timings between 11 pm and 6 am in Dubai and 10 pm and 6 am in all other emirates. “Today we announce the completion of the National Disinfection Programme, which covered the country’s public facilities and transportation. Dubai issues new travel guidelines
Dubai will begin allowing tourists in from July 7 and citizens and residents can resume outbound travel from June 23, the Dubai Media Office said on Sunday. Here are the new guidelines for air travel, according to the Dubai Media Office. Dubai Tourism releases video to inspire travellers to plan their next trip
“Every rising sun brings us closer to when we can see each other again,” states a new video released by Dubai Tourism. The one-minute video, runs you through the various strategies implemented in Dubai during the last three months, ranging from curfews, the sterilisation of roads, and enforcing social distancing to limit the spread of COVID-19. “We will welcome you with open doors. Skydive Dubai reopens over weekend, as Marina comes alive
The skydiving centre in Dubai Marina has resumed operations at the Palm Jumeirah drop zone, with strict regulations in place to keep skydivers safe during the Covid-19 pandemic. Upon arrival at Skydive Dubai, every visitor and staff member will be temperature screened, and anyone with a high temperature will be turned away, even if they have a paid reservation. Inside the Skydive Dubai venue, there is an enforced two-metre distance between all guests and staff, and face masks are compulsory at all times. Dubai all set to allow free movement, business operations from Wednesday
Dubai will begin allowing free movement and business activity to restart from tomorrow. There will be no restrictions on movement or business operations between 6 am and 11 pm, the Dubai media office said in a press release. Some retail and wholesale businesses will be allowed to reopen, subject to further sterilisation operations and social distancing measures, the media office tweeted. Those will include cinemas, indoor gyms and education and treatment centres for children. Dubai Tourism issues guidelines for hospitality and travel sectors, to safeguard travellers
Dubai Tourism has come out with detailed guidelines for the tourism and hospitality sectors to safeguard travellers. It has said large outdoor tourism activities involving more than five people, sports events, parties, hotel amenities like swimming pools, spas, sauna, gyms and prayer rooms will not be permitted. All outdoor activities involving less than five persons are allowed. Water sports activities, boat and bike rentals, jet skis and sky diving are permitted, in a controlled environment. Bars and pubs shut in Dubai
All bars, pubs and lounges including bars within restaurants in Dubai have been closed from yesterday, until the end of the month to prevent the spread of corona virus. A statement from the Department of Tourism said, “In line with Dubai government’s precautionary measures to ensure the health and safety of its residents and visitors, Dubai tourism notifies all bards, pubs and lounges to close with immediate effect from March 16 till the end of the month.” However, restaurants can remain open. Dubai Tourism, TikTok partner for marketing campaign
Following Kerala Tourism, who has entered into a partnership with TikTok recently, the Ministry of Tourism, Dubai has also announced its partnership with mobile video application TikTok for their #ThisisDubai social media campaign. As part of the partnership, the app created “AR stickers with exclusive Dubai themed music”. Participants were asked to capture unique aspects of the city to tell the story of Dubai. Dubai attracts 1.61 mn visitors in Jan 2019; India tops with 206,000 visitors
Dubai has attracted 1.61 million international visitors in January 2019, with India being the top source market with 206,000 visitors. Total international guests shows a marginal increase with 1.61 million in 2019 compared to the 1.59 million visitors in 2018. Kingdom of Saudi Arabia stands second with 160,000 visitors and China stands third with 100,000 visitors. However, the number of visitors from India showed a 12 per cent decrease compared to the 2018 period. The guests’ length of stay at the emirate recorded 3.8 nights.
UAE expect to host 8.92 million visitors by 2023
As per a recent report released by Arabian Travel Market (ATM), the UAE’s inbound tourist footfall will touch 8.92 million by 2023, from its major 5 source markets. The upcoming Expo 2020 and its legacy, District 2020, are expected to have a positive impact on inbound arrivals to the UAE from the country’s top five source markets between 2018 and 2023, according to the data.
