A R Ajayakumar, Wayanad District Collector, convened a meeting of the task force of ‘Haritha Keralam Mission’, to declare all tourism destinations in the district plastic-free. “As decided in the meeting, District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) will be directed to ban plastic in all tourism destinations in the district,” said the Collector after the meeting. Kochi is going to be one of the coveted tourism destinations of the state, as District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) is planning to implement a CIAL model Special Service Vehicle (SPV) for 14 islands of Kadamakkudy panchayath to convert them to a village tourism hub. It was revealed in a meeting of DTPC along with other stakeholders, including district administration and Kadamakkudy grama panchayath. Kedar Jadhav Indian cricket team all-rounder Kedar Jadhav will be the chief guest in the first-ever house boat rally to be taken place in Alappuzha on 2nd November 2018. The authorities are planning to have boat rally from the finishing point of the Nehru trophy boat race. The date of the rally is 2nd November 2018. The objective of the rally is to announce that Wayanad is safe and ready to receive tourists in all respects. As part of Neelakurinji campaign, Showcase Munnar Association organized a Super Bike Rally on 22nd September in continuation of Rally to the Blue Mountain. There were 20 Harley Davidson and other super bikes participated in the rally. Rally was flagged off at Ernakulam Boat Jetty in the morning by K P Nandakumar, Joint Director, Kerala Tourism;  K S Shine and G Kamalamma, Deputy Directors of Kerala Tourism; Rajesh Nair, CGM, Eastend Group were present in the function. Houseboat industry of Kerala, mostly concentrated in Alappuzha and Kottayam districts, is spreading its focus to other regions such as Eranakulam and Malabar. The Ernakulam District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) has sought the permission from the authorities to set up a houseboat terminal-cum-hub on Kadamakudy Island. “They can also operate from DTPC’s boat terminal at Marine Drive. The Chittoor-Cheranalloor route and the water body on the north western parts of the city are ideal to operate and berth them. ദിനംപ്രതി സഞ്ചാരികളുടെ എണ്ണം കൂടി വരുന്ന പാഞ്ചാലിമേട്ടില്‍ സഞ്ചാരികള്‍ക്ക് ടൂറിസം വകുപ്പ് അടിസ്ഥാന സൗകര്യങ്ങള്‍ ഒരുക്കുന്നു. പാഞ്ചാലിമേട് ടൂറിസം പദ്ധതിയുടെ ആദ്യഘട്ട നിര്‍മ്മാണ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ ഇ എസ് ബിജിമോള്‍ എം എല്‍ എയുടെയും പെരുവന്താനം ഗ്രാമപഞ്ചായത്ത് പ്രസിഡന്റ് കെ ടി ബിനുവിന്റെയും  നേതൃത്വത്തില്‍ പൂര്‍ത്തിയാക്കിയ പദ്ധതി തിങ്കളാഴ്ച്ച ടൂറിസം മന്ത്രി കടകംപള്ളി സുരേന്ദ്രന്‍ ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്യും. പീരുമേട് എം എല്‍ എ ഇ എസ് ബിജിമോളുടെ അദ്ധ്യക്ഷതയില്‍ നടക്കുന്ന ചടങ്ങില്‍ ഇടുക്കി എം പി അഡ്വ ജോയ്‌സ് ജോര്‍ജ് ആണ് മുഖ്യാതിഥി. നിറഞ്ഞ മൊട്ട കുന്നുകളും അടിവാരങ്ങളും ദൂരക്കാഴ്ച്ചകളും ഇളം കാറ്റിന്റെ കുളിര്‍മ നുകരാന്‍ എത്തുന്ന സഞ്ചാരികള്‍ക്ക് കൂടൂതല്‍ സുര്ക്ഷ ഉറപ്പ് നല്‍കുക എന്നതാണ് പദ്ധതിയുടെ ലക്ഷ്യം.

കാത്തിരിപ്പുകള്‍ക്കും ആശങ്കകള്‍ക്കും ശേഷം മരുതിമല വിനോദസഞ്ചര പദ്ധതി യാഥാര്‍ഥ്യമാകുന്നു. വെളിയം പഞ്ചായത്തിന്റെ മുടങ്ങിപ്പോയ മുട്ടറമരുതിമല ഇക്കോ ടൂറിസം പദ്ധതി ജില്ലാടൂറിസം പ്രമോഷന്‍ കൗണ്‍സിലിന്റെ മേല്‍നോട്ടത്തില്‍ പുതിയൊരു ടൂറിസം മാതൃകയായി രൂപാന്തരം പ്രാപിക്കുന്നു. മുടങ്ങിപ്പോയ പദ്ധതി പുനരുജ്ജീവിപ്പിക്കാനും മരുതിമലയെ ടൂറിസം ഡെസ്റ്റിനേഷനാക്കുന്നതിനും വേണ്ടി അയിഷാ പോറ്റി എംഎല്‍യുടെ നിരന്തരപരിശ്രമത്തിന്റെ ഫലമായിട്ടാണ് വീണ്ടും പദ്ധതിക്ക് ജീവന്‍വെച്ചത്. ടൂറിസം മന്ത്രി കടകംപള്ളി സുരേന്ദ്രന്റെ ഓഫീസില്‍ ചേര്‍ന്ന യോഗത്തില്‍ പദ്ധതി യാഥാര്‍ഥ്യത്തിലാക്കാനുള്ള നടപടികള്‍ പൂര്‍ത്തിയായി. പദ്ധതിയുടെ ഒന്നാം ഘട്ടത്തിനു വേണ്ടി ഫണ്ടുവകയിരുത്തി. ഒന്നാം ഘട്ടത്തിന്റെ നിര്‍മാണ പ്രവര്‍ത്തികള്‍ ഇപ്പോള്‍ അവസാന ഘട്ടത്തിലാണ്. മുമ്പ് പദ്ധതിക്കു വേണ്ടി നിര്‍മിച്ച കെട്ടിടങ്ങള്‍ ഉള്‍പ്പെടെ ഇവിടെ സ്ഥിരം താവളമാക്കിയ സാമൂഹ്യവിരുദ്ധര്‍ തകര്‍ത്തിരുന്നു. 44.86000 ലക്ഷം രൂപയാണ് ആദ്യഘട്ടത്തിന് ചെലവിട്ടിരിക്കുന്നത്. ഇതുപയോഗപ്പെടുത്തി മരുതിമലയിലേക്ക് ജലലഭ്യത ഉറപ്പാക്കി, പ്രകൃതിക്ക് ദോഷംതട്ടാത്ത രീതിയില്‍ ഇവിടുത്തെ കല്ലുകള്‍ ഉപയോഗപ്പെടുത്തി തന്നെ വാക്ക് വേ, പടിക്കെട്ടുകള്‍ എന്നിവ നിര്‍മിച്ചു, കഫെറ്റീരിയ, ചുറ്റുവേലി, പ്രവേശന കവാടം, വൈദ്യുതീകരണം എന്നിവയും പൂര്‍ത്തിയാക്കി ...
