Pune, Maharashtra Maharashtra’s Pune ranked top in the Ease of Living Index released by the Central government here on Monday.  The survey has conducted to find the best city to live based on four parameters— governance, social institutions, economic and physical infrastructure. The Delhi government is all set to re-brand the city for tourists with an aim to double its revenue through tourism. The emphasis would be on creating specialised itineraries and conducting regular cultural events around the history of the capital. Currently, a traveller spends 1.8 days on an average in Delhi, and the aim is to increase this to 3.6 days.  According to World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), Delhi is the largest and busiest international airport, handling 58 million passengers in 2016-17. The Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has approved the ‘Mukhyamantri Tirth Yatra Yojana’ for senior citizens under which the Delhi government will bear the expenses of 77,000 pilgrims every year. “Mukhyamantri teerth yatra yojana approved. All objections overruled…” Kejriwal tweeted. Delhi residents above the age of 60 are covered under this scheme. Those selected, will be allowed to be accompanied by an attendant aging 18 years or above and their expenditure will also be borne by the city administration. The Cox & Kings study reveals a whopping 87 per cent of the respondents feel strongly about saving the environment. The study also highlights the deciding parameters for accommodation, adventure type, the rise of voluntourism, transport and travel logistics for the young Indian travellers. The Delhi government has decided to hire a ‘social media agency’ to project Delhi as a tourist-friendly destination on social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. The tourism department of the capital state has prepared a plan under which it will undertake several initiatives – one of them is hiring of a professional social media agency. The department has plans to hire an agency by September 2018. The work of this agency would be to brand Delhi as a tourist friendly destination on social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. നഗരങ്ങളെ തമ്മില്‍ ബന്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഡല്‍ഹി- മുംബൈ ട്രെയിന്‍ യാത്ര സുഗമമാക്കാന്‍ കേന്ദ്ര സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ പദ്ധതി. 500 കോടി രൂപ ചെലവില്‍ ട്രാക്കിലെ 500 കിലോമീറ്ററില്‍ മതില്‍ നിര്‍മിക്കാനുള്ള പദ്ധതിക്കു കേന്ദ്രം പച്ചക്കൊടി കാട്ടി.   ആളുകളും കന്നുകാലികളും അതിക്രമിച്ചു കടക്കുന്നതു തടയാന്‍ ലക്ഷ്യമിട്ടാണു ട്രാക്കിന്റെ ഇരുവശങ്ങളിലും മതില്‍ നിര്‍മിക്കുന്നത്. ഇതുവഴി ട്രെയിനുകള്‍ക്കു പരമാവധി വേഗം കൈവരിക്കാനാകുമെന്നും ഇരു നഗരങ്ങള്‍ക്കുമിടയിലുള്ള യാത്രാസമയം കുറയ്ക്കാനാകുമെന്നും റെയില്‍വേ ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടി. 1384 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ ദൈര്‍ഘ്യമുള്ള പാതയില്‍ ട്രെയിനുകള്‍ക്ക് അനുവദിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന പരമാവധി വേഗം മണിക്കൂറില്‍ 130 കിലോമീറ്ററാണ്. എന്നാല്‍ പലയിടങ്ങളിലും ട്രാക്കിലേക്ക് ആളുകളും കന്നുകാലികളും മറ്റും കയറാന്‍ സാധ്യതയുള്ളതിനാല്‍ ട്രെയിനുകള്‍ വേഗം കുറച്ചാണു പോകുന്നത്. ഇതുമൂലം അനാവശ്യ സമയനഷ്ടമുണ്ടാകുന്നുവെന്ന വിലയിരുത്തലിലാണു മതില്‍ നിര്‍മിക്കാനുള്ള തീരുമാനം. നഗരമേഖലകള്‍, തിരക്കേറിയ റെയില്‍വേ സ്റ്റേഷനുകള്‍ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലൂടെയുള്ള ട്രാക്കുകളിലാണു മതില്‍ നിര്‍മിക്കുക.മതില്‍ കെട്ടിയശേഷം ട്രാക്കിലെ പരമാവധി വേഗം മണിക്കൂറില്‍ 160 കിലോമീറ്ററായി ഉയര്‍ത്തുന്നതു പരിഗണിക്കുമെന്ന് അധികൃതര്‍ വ്യക്തമാക്കി.

ഡല്‍ഹിയില്‍ മേയ് ഒന്നു മുതല്‍ അയല്‍ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലെ വിനോദസഞ്ചാര കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളിലേക്കുള്ള ബസ് സര്‍വീസുകള്‍ ലട്യന്‍സ് മേഖലയില്‍ നിന്നു സരായ് കലേ ഖാന്‍ ഐ എസ് ബി ടിയിലേക്ക് മാറ്റാന്‍ ഗതാഗത വകുപ്പ് തീരുമാനം. ബിക്കാനീര്‍ ഹൗസ്, ഹിമാചല്‍ ഭവന്‍, ചന്ദര്‍ലോക് ബില്‍ഡിങ് എന്നിവിടങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നാണു നിലവില്‍ ബസുകള്‍ സര്‍വീസ് നടത്തുന്നത്. ബിക്കാനീര്‍ ഹൗസില്‍നിന്നു സര്‍വീസുകള്‍ മാറ്റാന്‍ രാജസ്ഥാന്‍ ഗതാഗത വകുപ്പിനോടു സുപ്രീം കോടതി അടുത്തിടെ നിര്‍ദേശിച്ചിരുന്നു. ഇതിനു പിന്നാലെയാണു മറ്റു സംസ്ഥാന ബസ് സര്‍വീസുകളും ലട്യന്‍സ് മേഖലയില്‍നിന്നു നീക്കാന്‍ ഗതാഗത വകുപ്പ് തീരുമാനിച്ചത്. നഗരത്തിലെ അന്തരീക്ഷ മലിനീകരണം കുറയ്ക്കാന്‍ ലക്ഷ്യമിട്ടാണു നടപടി. ഡീസലില്‍ ഓടുന്ന അന്യസംസ്ഥാന ബസുകള്‍ ലട്യന്‍സ് മേഖലയില്‍ വ്യാപക മലിനീകരണമുണ്ടാക്കുന്നതു കണക്കിലെടുത്താണു നടപടി. ജയ്പുര്‍, അജ്മീര്‍, ഷിംല, മണാലി, ഹരിദ്വാര്‍, ഡെറാഡൂണ്‍, ധരംശാല എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലക്കാണു നിലവില്‍ ലട്യന്‍സില്‍നിന്നു സര്‍വീസുള്ളത്.

Indian Railway, as part of fastening trains connecting the four metro cities of Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai and Delhi (Quadrilateral) has asked the concerned authorities to improve the existing infrastructure.
