Rs.15,000 crore package for the Tourism sector
The RBI has been announced a 15,000 crore loan package for assisting sectors including tourism, hotels, and restaurants, which are facing severe crisis due to the expansion of covid. Loans are available only to travel agencies, tour operators, supply chain companies, private bus operators, car workshops, car rental companies, event organizers, spas, beauty parlors/salons, and aviation ground handling. For this, the RBI will provide money to the banks at a four percent repo rate in a period of three years. The aim is to ensure the availability of money in these areas. Oman tightens restrictions; These are the new orders
The Supreme Committee announced further restrictions in the wake of the Covid expansion. During the month of Ramadan, night travel and trade bans were imposed. Access to Oman was restricted to nationals and resident visa holders. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Supreme Committee chaired by the Home Minister. During the month of Ramadan, the ban lasts from eight at night to four in the morning. Currently, travel and trade bans are from 8 pm to 5 am. This will continue until April 8. Thailand offers Yacht quarantine to fish tourists
Tourists to Thailand can now spend their mandatory two-week coronavirus quarantine on a luxury yacht, as part of a bid by the government to revive the country’s tourism industry, which is the major source of income for the country. Thai government’s Digital Economy Promotion Agency, along with partners including top telecom group Advanced Info Service, jointly announced the yacht quarantine program earlier this week. Yellow fever vaccinations not required to enter Singapore
The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has clarified that the Singapore Ministry of Health has not issued any health advisory that requires travelers from India to have yellow fever vaccinations. STB in a press note on Wednesday said that a circular dated February 27, purportedly from Air India, has been making the rounds stating “yellow fever vaccination requirement for travelers to Singapore”. The circular further claims that it is a directive from the Singapore Ministry of Health.
