India on Friday made seven-day home quarantine mandatory for all international arrivals and an RT-PCR test on the eighth day, as it issued revised guidelines for international passengers. The guidelines released on Friday come into force from January 11 and will remain effective till further government orders. Celebrations on the eve of new year is banned on beaches across Tamil Nadu, a top police official of the State on Wednesday. Romania enforces new travel measures over omicron concerns

New COVID-19 Surges Keep Travel Restrictions in Place

According to the UNWTO Travel Restrictions Report, 46 destinations (21% of all destinations worldwide) currently have their borders completely closed to tourists. Of these, 26 destinations have had their borders completely closed since at least the end of April 2020. A further 55 (25% of all global destinations) continue to have their borders partially closed to international tourism, and 112 destinations (52% of all destinations) require international tourists to present a PCR or antigen test upon arrival. Singapore restricts travellers from 7 African countries hit by more contagious COVID-19 variant

Singapore will restrict entry of people with recent travel history to seven African countries after reports that a potentially more contagious COVID-19 variant may be circulating there, the Ministry of Health said on Friday. No flights from India till July 15 – Emirates

Emirates has announced that it will not operate flights from India until the 15th of this month. The company had yesterday stated that it would not operate services from India until further notice. Earlier, Etihad and Air India had said they would not operate flights until July 21. UAE authorities have banned flights from India since April 24.
