CIAL wins global award for quality airport service

(Photo Courtesy: Indian Express) Cochin International Airport (CIAL) has secured third place in the Airport Service Quality survey conducted by Airports Council International (ACI), a non-profit organisation representing the world’s airports. The award was in the Asia-Pacific region, 5 to 15 million passengers category. CIAL achieved this award based on facilities provided by the airport, such as car parking, check-in services, food, entertainment and toilets. കോടി യാത്രക്കാര്‍: നേട്ടവുമായി നെടുമ്പാശ്ശേരി വിമാനത്താവളം
2017-18 സാമ്പത്തിക വര്‍ഷത്തില്‍ നെടുമ്പാശ്ശേരി അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര വിമാനത്താവളത്തിലൂടെ കടന്നുപോയ യാത്രക്കാരുടെ എണ്ണം ഒരുകോടി കവിഞ്ഞു. 19 വര്‍ഷത്തിനിടെ ആദ്യമായാണ് ഒരു സാമ്പത്തിക വര്‍ഷത്തില്‍ ഒരു കോടിയിലേറെ യാത്രക്കാര്‍ കൊച്ചി വിമാനത്താവളത്തില്‍ എത്തുന്നത്. കഴിഞ്ഞ സാമ്പത്തിക വര്‍ഷത്തില്‍ 89.41 ലക്ഷം യാത്രക്കാരാണ് കൊച്ചി വിമാനത്താവളം വഴി കടന്നുപോയത്‌. ആഭ്യന്തര യാത്രക്കാരുടെ എണ്ണത്തില്‍ വന്ന വന്‍വര്‍ധനവാണ് ചരിത്രനേട്ടത്തിലേക്കെത്താന്‍ നെടുമ്പാശ്ശേരി വിമാനത്താവളത്തെ സഹായിച്ചതെന്നു സിയാല്‍ (കൊച്ചിന്‍ ഇന്‍റര്‍നാഷണല്‍ എയര്‍പോര്‍ട്ട്‌ ലിമിറ്റഡ്) മാനേജിങ് ഡയറക്ടര്‍ വി.ജെ കുര്യന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര യാത്രക്കാരുടെ എണ്ണം ഇപ്പോള്‍ 52 ശതമാനമാണ്. ആഭ്യന്തര യാത്രക്കാരുടെ എണ്ണത്തില്‍ ഈ സാമ്പത്തികവര്‍ഷം 23 ശതമാനം വര്‍ധനവുണ്ടായി. അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര യാത്രക്കാരുടെ വളര്‍ച്ച നാലു ശതമാനവും. ആഭ്യന്തരയാത്രക്കാരുടെ എണ്ണം കഴിഞ്ഞ വര്‍ഷത്തെ 39.42 ലക്ഷത്തില്‍ നിന്ന് 48.43 ലക്ഷമായി വര്‍ധിച്ചപ്പോള്‍ അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര യാത്രക്കാര്‍ 49.98 ലക്ഷത്തില്‍ നിന്ന് 51.64 ലക്ഷമായി. യാത്രക്കാരുടെ എണ്ണത്തില്‍ ആകെ 11 ശതമാനം വളര്‍ച്ചയാണ് രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. പുതുതായി നിര്‍മിക്കുന്ന ആഭ്യന്തര ടെര്‍മിനലിന്‍റെ നിര്‍മാണം ...
