As torrential rain lashes Kerala, the tourism department has decided to postpone the 67th edition of the Nehru Trophy boat race, which was scheduled on Saturday (Aug 10) at Punnamada lake in Alappuzha. The tourism department has made the announcement considering the risk from the heavy rain and flood. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was slated to inaugurate the race at 2 p.m tomorrow. Kerala Government has decided to form a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for the conduct of the IPL-model Champions’ Boat League (CBL) as an annual event in August-November, showcasing Kerala’s famed snake-boat race in the backwaters in six districts across the state as a world class experience. The decision was announced by state Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran at a meeting of stakeholders, jointly held with Finance Minister Dr T M Thomas Isaac. Kerala Tourism has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a consortium represented by E Factor Entertainment and The Social Street (AMP Communications) for the development, branding, promotions, marketing and revenue generation activities of the Champions’ Boat League (CBL). The consortium will be responsible for the developmental exercise of the league for the next five years starting 2019 until 2023. Kerala Tourism has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a consortium led by Delhi-based E Factor Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. for branding, promoting, marketing and revenue generation activities of the Champions Boat League from 2019 to 2023. As per the MoU, the agency will be responsible for promotional activities for five years. The government will get 35 per cent revenue share. The other member of the consortium is AMP Communications Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai. The Department of Tourism has invited proposals from eligible sports/event management agencies for branding, promoting, marketing and revenue generation activities of the Champions Boat League. The last date of submitting proposals has been extended till 3 pm, February 21, 2019. The selected agency will be responsible for promotional activities for five years. കുമരകത്ത് പരിശീലന തുഴച്ചിലിനിടെ ചുണ്ടൻ വള്ളം എതിരെ വന്ന ശിക്കാര വള്ളത്തിൽ ഇടിച്ചു കയറി. ചുണ്ടന്റെ അണിയത്തുണ്ടായിരുന്നവർ ചാടി നീന്തിയതിനാൽ ആളപായം ഒഴിവായി. കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസമായിരുന്നു സംഭവം. കുമരകം നവധാര ബോട്ട് ക്ലബ് തുഴയുന്ന കരുവാറ്റ ശ്രീ വിനായകൻ എന്ന ചുണ്ടനാണ് ഹൗസ്ബോട്ടിന്റെ ചെറു പതിപ്പായ ശിക്കാരയിൽ ഇടിച്ചു കയറിയത്. കുമരകം മുത്തേരിമട തോട്ടിലായിരുന്നു സംഭവം. അഞ്ചു ചുണ്ടനുകളാണ് ഇവിടെ പരിശീലനം നടത്തിയിരുന്നത്.ഫിനിഷിംഗ് പോയിന്റിലേക്ക് അതിവേഗമെത്തിയ ശ്രീ വിനായകൻ സഞ്ചാരികളുമായി വന്ന ശിക്കാരയിൽ ഇടിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. ചുണ്ടൻ വള്ളത്തിന്റെ പിത്തളയിൽ തീർത്ത മുൻഭാഗം ശിക്കാരയിൽ തുളഞ്ഞു കയറി. ഇടിയുടെ ആഘാതത്തിൽ ശിക്കാര ആടിയുലഞ്ഞു. എതിരെ ശിക്കാര വരുന്നത് കണ്ടു അണിയത്തു തുഴഞ്ഞവർ തോട്ടിലേക്ക് ചാടി. ചുണ്ടനുകൾ പരിശീലനം നടത്തുന്ന ഇവിടെ ചെറു വള്ളങ്ങൾക്കും ശിക്കാരകൾക്കും ഹൗസ്ബോട്ടുകൾക്കും നിയന്ത്രണങ്ങളില്ല. പലപ്പോഴും കഷ്ടിച്ചാണ് ഇവ അപകടത്തിൽ നിന്നും രക്ഷപ്പെടുന്നത്. പരിശീലന തുഴച്ചിൽ കാണാൻ ആയിക്കണക്കിന് ആളുകളാണ് തോടിന്റെ ഇരു കരകളിലും വരുന്നത്. കുമരകത്തെ വള്ളങ്ങളുടെ കൂട്ടയിടിയുടെ ... The Kerala state Tourism department has announced Rs 25 lakh cash prize for the winners of Champions Boat League tournament. “The boat races in the state will be promoted as a major attraction for International tourists visiting the state,” said Kadakampally Surendran, Minister for Tourism.
