Buddha Air’s Kolkata-Kathmandu flight launch delayed till May 27
Nepal based Buddha Air, has delayed the launch of Kolkata-Kathmandu operations by over a month because of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. “Both the India government and all agencies involved with aviation business suggested to begin the service post election. So we decided to defer it,” said Rupesh Joshi, Marketing Director, Buddha Air. Buddha Air will operate thrice a week- Monday, Wednesday and Friday from May 27 2019. The airline would be the second Nepali air carrier to connect Kolkata with Kathmandu after the Royal Nepal Airlines’ withdrawal from Kolkata two decades back. Source: PTI
Nepal’s Buddha Air to fly to Kolkata from May
Buddha Air, Nepal’s leading private air service provider, will operate flights to Kolkata from May-end this year. Buddha Air will operate its flights to Kolkata with the ATR 72-500 aircraft on Monday, Wednesday and Friday every week. The airlines had earlier planned to start flights to the eastern Indian city from mid-April. However, it changed its flight dates considering upcoming Indian parliamentary elections. “Although the date of the flights has been changed due to the elections, the flight schedule remains unchanged,” said a media statement issued by the Buddha Air.
