Tourism Australia and Singapore Airlines sign agreement to promote tourism

Queensland to fund cryptocurrency start-up for tourism promotion
Queensland, second largest state of the Australian province, is planning to issue a grant to a crypto start-up as part of their innovation funding. As per the government statement, the state government will grant over $8.3 million to TravelbyBit digital currency payments platform for the travel and tourism industry. It is part of their Advance Queensland Ignite Ideas funding, which supports entrepreneurs in Queensland in developing their businesses. “The role of the company will be to enhance the number of inbound tourists to Central Queensland through selling travel offers with cryptocurrencies and creating more jobs,” said Kate Jones, Innovation Minister. ... Jetstar to fly between Brisbane and Uluru from August
Budget Carrier Jetstar will fly between Brisbane and Uluru commencing 3 August 2018. Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) welcomed the Jetstar announcement of three times weekly flights to Uluru. The new flights operating on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays will inject more than 55,000 return seats into the market each year, enhancing Brisbane’s regional reach and providing a convenient gateway for international travellers to Australia’s world renowned Uluru. George Corones, a veteran swimmer from Australia sets new world record by completing 50-metre freestyle, in under 56.12 seconds for the 100-104 age category.
