A no-deal Brexit could risk hundreds of thousands of Travel & Tourism jobs : WTTC
The UK government and the EU must agree on a deal over Brexit to save and secure millions of Travel & Tourism jobs, says the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC). WTTC, which represents the global Travel & Tourism private sector, has urged the two sides to come together to find a way to reach a consensus for a post-Brexit trade deal as talks enter their eleventh hour. No-deal Brexit will adversely affect tourism sector
While the heated discussion are going on in favour of and against Brexit, the Independent predicts loss of around 700,000 tourism jobs across Europe, once Brexit become reality. As per estimations by The World Travel & Tourism Council, the UK would lose 308,000, while 399,000 positions in other parts of Europe would be in danger. ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് ഡ്രൈവിംഗ് ലൈസന്‍സ് അസാധുവാക്കുവാന്‍ തീരുമാനമെടുത്ത് യൂറോപ്യന്‍ യൂണിയന്‍. ബ്രെക്‌സിറ്റ് നടപടി ക്രമങ്ങള്‍ പൂര്‍ത്തിയാകുന്നതോടെയാണ് ലൈസന്‍സ് അസാധുവാക്കല്‍ നിലവില്‍ വരുന്നത്. അസാധുവാക്കല്‍ നിയമമാകുന്നതോടെ യൂണിയനില്‍ വാഹനമോടിക്കാന്‍ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്ന ബ്രിട്ടീഷ്‌കാര്‍ക്ക് പുതിയ ഇന്റര്‍നാഷണല്‍ പെര്‍മിറ്റ് എടുക്കണമെന്നാണ് നിര്‍ദേശം. യൂറോപ്യന്‍ യൂണിയനില്‍ അംഗങ്ങളായ രാജ്യങ്ങളിലെ പൗരന്‍മാര്‍ക്ക് നിലവില്‍ ഇതില്‍ ഏതു രാജ്യത്തെയും ലൈസന്‍സ് യൂണിയനുള്ളില്‍ ഉപയോഗിക്കാം. എന്നാല്‍, യൂണിയനില്‍നിന്നു പുറത്തു പോകുന്ന യുകെയ്ക്ക് ഈ സൗകര്യം നല്‍കില്ലെന്നാണ് തീരുമാനം. ഇതു സംബന്ധിച്ച ഔദ്യോഗിക പ്രഖ്യാപനം ഇനിയും പുറത്തുവന്നിട്ടില്ല. 1949ലെ ജനീവ കണ്‍വന്‍ഷന്‍ പ്രകാരം ഇന്റര്‍നാഷണല്‍ ഡ്രൈവിങ് പെര്‍മിറ്റ് ഉള്ളവര്‍ക്ക് യൂറോപ്പില്‍ വാഹനം ഓടിക്കാം. ഇതു മാത്രമായിരിക്കും ബ്രിട്ടീഷുകാര്‍ക്ക് ഭാവിയില്‍ ആശ്രയം. നിലവില്‍ ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് ലൈസന്‍സുകളില്‍ യൂറോപ്യന്‍ യൂണിയന്റെ ചിഹ്നവും ആലേഖനം ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്.
