Seen as a welcome move, India’s national carrier Air India will be operating additional flights between India and UK from 11 DEC’20 till 27 MAR’21 under the air bubble agreement. Every Friday there would be a flight to Delhi-Amritsar-Birmingham and on every Saturday there would be a return flight on the route Birmingham-Amritsar-Delhi. The statistics released by West Midlands Growth Company and research body Global Tourism Solutions (GTS) shows that the city of Birmingham had a boom in tourism sector recording a tourist footfall of 41.8 million in 2017. The total expenditure of the tourists amounted to £7.1 billion, registering a growth of 9 per cent in a year. The average hotel occupancy recorded 75 per cent, same as that in 2016. Emirates have launched their spring flight deals. Now, passengers can fly from London to Dubai from £319 this April. Alongside the London Airport, the airline is offering cheap flights from Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham and Newcastle. Alongside flights to Dubai, the airline is offering discounts on flights to Vietnam, Malaysia and Australia. Between April and June, customers can secure cheap flights from a wide variety of UK airports.
