Spicejet announces 24 new domestic flights: First airline to connect Ajmer with Mumbai
SpiceJet, the country’s favourite airline and the largest regional player, today announced the launch of 24 new domestic flights. SpiceJet will be the first and only airline to connect Ajmer with Mumbai and Ahmedabad with Amritsar reiterating the airline’s commitment to enhance connectivity between metro and non-metro cities. The new flights also include four new seasonal flights connecting Jaisalmer, the ‘Golden City’ of India, with Delhi and Ahmedabad. Passengers will soon be able to fly non-stop to San Francisco in the US from Bengaluru. India’s national carrier Air India announced on Wednesday that it will operate flights twice-weekly to the United States from January 11, 2021, from Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport. The flight, for which the bookings have commenced from Wednesday, will be operated twice-a-week with a Boeing B777-200 LR aircraft, it said. GoAir has launched non-stop flights to Singapore from Bengaluru and Kolkata. Starting October 18, 2019, GoAir will operate Bengaluru – Singapore – Bengaluru flights four days in a week. Effective October 19, 2019, GoAir will operate the Kolkata – Singapore – Kolkata flights three days in a week. KLM to launch direct Bengaluru-Amsterdam flight from October 28
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is all set fly from Bengaluru to Amsterdam, starting October 28, 2019. The launch of this new flight comes in line with the suspension of Jet Airways’ service to the route. The frequency of the flight will be thrice a week on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner with a configuration of 30 seats in business class, 45 seats in the economy comfort class and 219 seats in economy. Bengaluru going cycle-friendly; dedicated tracks to come on 100km of roads
Over 100 kilometres of city roads in Bengaluru will have dedicated cycle tracks soon. The first phase of the project, which covers 46 km stretch, will be ready in an year’s time. The phase 1 includes four roads in Indiranagar and a portion of the Outer Ring Road. The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), have floated bids for the construction of cycle tracks at a cost of Rs 64 crore. IndiGo launches flight between Allahabad and Bengaluru
IndiGo has launched non-stop flights between Allahabad and Bengaluru at a starting all-inclusive price of Rs 2,500. The flight started from Bengaluru on Thursday at 1:30 pm and reached Allahabad at 4:10 pm. The flight started from Allahabad at 4:40 pm and reached Bengaluru at 9:00 pm, an airline release said. With this new connectivity, Allahabad-Bengaluru has become the sixth RCS (Regional Connectivity Scheme – UDAN) route and the 60th destination on IndiGo’s network. Celebrations of Dasara in Mysore palace cancelled following death in Royal family
All the private celebrations of Dasara in the Mysore Palace stood suspended following the unexpected demise of two members of the royal family. The unfortunate events were on 19th October 2018. The first person was Puttarathnammanni (98), mother of Pramoda Devi Wadiyar, wife of late Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar, who passed away early in the morning. She died at a private hospital and later her body was brought to the Summer Palace adjoining the Mysuru Zoo, where it was kept for viewing to very close members of the royal family and others close to the family. Jet Airways has commenced new flights on the Indore – Chandigarh – Indore – Hyderabad and Bengaluru – Guwahati routes. It has also commenced services from Indore to Hyderabad and Chandigarh. Well-known for its state-of-the-art passenger-friendly amenities, the Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru, came fist in the quarterly ACI-ASQ Arrival Survey.
