പ്രളയക്കെടുതിയില്‍ സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ ടൂറിസം മേഖലയ്ക്കു നഷ്ടം രണ്ടായിരം കോടി രൂപയിലേറെ. സഞ്ചാരികളുടെ വരവ് നിലച്ചതോടെ ടൂറിസവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് ഉപജീവനം നടത്തുന്ന ലക്ഷക്കണക്കിനാളുകളുടെ ഉപജീവനവും മുട്ടി. ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ പ്രതിസന്ധിയില്‍ നിന്ന് കരകയറാന്‍ ടൂറിസം മേഖല ഊര്‍ജിത ശ്രമം നടത്തുന്നുണ്ട്. പക്ഷെ എത്രനാള്‍ എന്ന് നിശ്ചയമില്ല. നിപ്പയില്‍ തുടങ്ങിയ പ്രഹരം ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സ്വന്തം നാടെന്നു വിളിപ്പേരുള്ള കേരളത്തില്‍ ഈ വര്‍ഷം രണ്ടാം പാദത്തില്‍ കനത്ത തിരിച്ചടി നല്‍കിയത് നിപ്പ വൈറസ് ബാധയാണ്. വിദേശ മാധ്യമങ്ങളില്‍ വരെ നിപ്പ ബാധയ്ക്കു പ്രാധാന്യം ലഭിക്കുകയും ചില രാജ്യങ്ങള്‍ യാത്രാ വിലക്ക് പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തതോടെ ടൂറിസം മേഖലയുടെ സ്ഥിതി സങ്കീര്‍ണമായി. നടപ്പു വര്‍ഷം ആദ്യ പാദത്തില്‍ 17ശതമാനം വളര്‍ച്ച രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയ കേരളത്തിലെ ടൂറിസം രംഗം രണ്ടാം പാദമായതോടെ 14 ശതമാനം ഇടിവെന്ന നിലയിലായി.രണ്ടാം പാദം തുടങ്ങിയ ഏപ്രില്‍-മേയ് മാസങ്ങളില്‍ ഈ കുറവിന് കാരണം നിപ്പ ബാധയാണെന്ന് ടൂറിസം ഡയറക്ടര്‍ പി ബാലകിരണ്‍ പറയുന്നു. പ്രളയം കനത്തതോടെ ഓഗസ്റ്റ്-സെപ്തംബര്‍ മാസങ്ങളിലും ... TPC volunteer conducts survey in the flood affected areas Kerala is slowly recovering from the devastating flood that caused widespread destruction to the state.  Thousands of houses damaged fully or partially. Many of the people lost their home appliances and utensils. Relief efforts are in full swing in different parts of Kerala after the flood waters started receding. Tens of thousands of people are still displaced from their homes. And the tourism fraternity from Trivandrum, the capital of the state which was not affected by the floods, is rushing to the aid of the flood victims.   Association of Tourism Trade Organization of India (ATTOI) has been pursuing its relief activities in the flood affected Kuttanad. Recently ATTOI has distributed drinking water to the relief camps in Kuttanad. As a follow-up action, ATTOI team have visited the flooded areas and the relief camps for the second time. This time Kainakari and the other innermost areas of Kuttanad have been visited.   The draft bill of Tourism Regulatory Authority of Kerala (TRAK) put forward by the Kerala State Government should be revised with some major amendments as suggested by the proponents of tourism industry. It was raised from the meeting of Confederation of Accredited Tour Operators (CATO) on 6th July 2018 at Le Meridian Hotel, Kochi. “Mandatory registration for all those working in the tourism industry is welcomed.
