Monuments under the Archaeological Survey, which were closed for two months following the spread of covid second wave, are being reopened. The Archaeological Survey of India has announced that protected monuments across the country will be re-opened from June 16. The Archaeological Survey of India said there would be no direct booking to visit the monuments and that admission tickets could be purchased online. Last year, 3,691 protected areas under the Archaeological Survey of India were closed due to the covid.

India’s tourism minister Prahlad Singh Patel has said there won’t be any need to wait for long periods of time, to secure permission to shoot films in any of the monuments of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). Patel said that film makers will get permission for shooting within 3 weeks of applying online on the ASI website (asiegov.gov.in/login).  He further said that this move is aimed at not only promoting  film shooting within India, but will also increase the popularity of Indian monuments. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Noida City Centre-Noida Electronic City section of the Delhi Metro’s Blue Line on Saturday. The services will be available at 4 PM, stated a senior DMRC official. This 6.6 km elevated section consists of six stations namely Sector 34, Sector 52, Sector 61, Sector 59, Sector 62 and Noida Electronic City. The new section will provide a convenient and faster mode of transport for the residents of Noida. Revenue generated through entry fee for ticketed monuments of ASI has shown an increase over last 3 years, said Dr Mahesh Sharma,  Minister of State (independent charge) for Culture and Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate change. Hampi, Karnataka Karnataka tourism is introducing Augmented Reality (AR) technology in 20 major tourism centers. As pilot projects, AR interventions are already active in heritage sites in the city such as Cubbon Park, Bangalore Palace, Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace, Bangalore Fort, Lalbagh and some old structures on MG Road. Humayun’s Tomb, Delhi An amount of Rs 41,127.86 lakh (Rs 411.27 crore) was allocated for conservation of 3,687 protected monuments during 2018-19 under the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), informed  Minister of State for Culture, Mahesh Sharma. “The conservation work on protected monuments of National importance in the country, under ASI, is attended regularly as per the requirements of different sites and availability of resources and they are in a fairly good state of preservation. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) is preparing to exhibit never seen before artefacts, including rare coins, pottery and clay utensils for the public. Archaeological Museums display objects on rotation basis which facilitates visitors to know about all important objects of different historical periods in totality. The Archaeological Survey of India has issued orders to allow photography within the premises of centrally protected monuments lifting the photography ban instituted earlier. The decision came after Prime Minister Narendra Modi questioned the logic behind the existing restrictions at an event. Photography will be allowed in all of the monuments and archaeological sites administered by the ASI, except the mausoleum at Taj Mahal, the Ajanta Caves and the Leh Palace, the order said. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has signed MoU with Yatra.com and BookMyShow, which will allow the foreign and domestic tourists online for the listed 141 historical monuments, sites and museums in India. ആര്‍ക്കിയോളജിക്കല്‍ സര്‍വേ ഓഫ് ഇന്ത്യയും ഉത്തര്‍പ്രദേശ് സുന്നി വഖഫ് ബോര്‍ഡും തമ്മിലുള്ള താജ്മഹലിന്റെ പേരിലുള്ള അവകാശതര്‍ക്കത്തിനിടയില്‍ സുന്നി വഖഫ് ബോര്‍ഡിനോട് ഷാജഹാന്‍ ഒപ്പിട്ട് നല്‍കിയ രേഖകള്‍ ഹാജരാക്കാന്‍ സുപ്രീംകോടതി ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു. മുഗള്‍ ചക്രവര്‍ത്തിയായ ഷാജഹാന്റെ കാലത്ത് പണിത താജ്മഹലിന്റെ അവകാശം ചക്രവര്‍ത്തി തങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് നല്‍കിയിട്ടുണ്ടെന്ന് വഖഫ് ബോര്‍ഡിന്റെ വാദത്തിലാണ് സുപ്രീംകോടതി ഇത് തെളിയിക്കുന്നതിന്റെ രേഖകള്‍ ഹാജരാക്കാന്‍ ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടത്. താജ്മഹല്‍ വഖഫ് സ്വത്തായി രജിസ്റ്റര്‍ ചെയ്യാനുള്ള ബോര്‍ഡിന്റെ തീരുമാനത്തിനെതിരെ 2010ലാണ് ആര്‍ക്കിയോളജിക്കല്‍ സര്‍വേ ഓഫ് ഇന്ത്യ സുപ്രീം കോടതി ബര്‍ജി നല്‍കിയത്. ഈ ഹര്‍ജിക്ക് മേലുള്ള വാദം നടക്കുന്നതിനിടെയാണ് ഷാജഹാന്‍ ചക്രവര്‍ത്തിയുടെ ഒപ്പ് സഹിതമുള്ള രേഖകള്‍ ഒരാഴ്ചക്കകം ഹാജരാക്കാന്‍ ബോര്‍ഡിനോട് സുപ്രീം കോടതി പറഞ്ഞത്. താജ് വഖഫ് ബോര്‍ഡിന്റേതാണെന്ന് പറഞ്ഞാല്‍ ഇന്ത്യയില്‍ ആരാണ് വിശ്വസിക്കുക, ഇത്തരം പ്രശ്നങ്ങളുയര്‍ത്തി കോടതിയുടെ സമയം കളയരുതെന്നും സുപ്രീംകോടതി ചീഫ് ജസ്റ്റിസ് പറഞ്ഞു. ചീഫ് ജസ്റ്റിസ് ദീപക് മിശ്രയുടെ അധ്യക്ഷതയിലുള്ള ബെഞ്ചാണ് കേസ് പരിഗണിച്ചത്. വഖഫ് ബോര്‍ഡിന്റെ മുതിര്‍ന്ന ...
