Antartica is often treated as a not-so approachable destination, though it is one of the most interesting destination a traveller ever want to go. UAE slated to be first desert nation to offer glacial tourism
National Advisor Bureau Limited, a United Arab Emirates (UAE) firm, has launched an official website for a project to tow icebergs from Antarctica to the UAE coasts during the first quarter of 2020 “to leverage them as new sources of water in the region”. The National Advisor Bureau Ltd put forward the UAE-Iceberg Project to highlight the upcoming stages and benefits in environment and economy. The project is estimated to cost $50-60 million. Sea Ice fades at Antarctica
A major portion of ice, covering the sea at Antartica had been reduced for the second straight year, according to reports by Australian Scientists. A satellite report sent from the Australian Antarctic Division (AAD), states that about 2.15 million sq km of surrounding ice had been recorded at the lowest point. “Since August 2016, the sea ice coverage has been tracking well below the long-term average,” said Phil Reid scientist at Bureau of Meteorology, Antarctic.
