Kurnool Airport, at Orvakal, Andhra Pradesh was inaugurated on 25th MAR by Y.S Jaganmohan Reddy, Chief Minister, Andhra Pradesh, joined virtually by Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of State Civil Aviation . Kurnool is the 6th airport in Andhra Pradesh to become functional after Kadapa, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, Rajahmundry & Vijayawada. The flight operations at Kurnool airport will commence on 28th March 2021 under the Regional Connectivity Scheme – Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik (RCS-UDAN). In a welcome move, the Andhra Pradesh government has approved a restart package to the tourism sector of the state. Through this, the state government has offered a restart package to the tune of INR 198.5 crore with interest subvention for assisting tourism establishments to restart their operations and support their fixed expenses and wage liabilities.
