Water aerodromes to come up in five Indian states
With an aim to promote operation of sea planes in the country, the central government has given in-principle approval for construction of ‘water aerodromes’, in five states. The first such aerodromes are set to come up in Odisha, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Assam. Andhra aims to reach 1 lakh rooms target by 2025
Considering the footfall of tourists, Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department (APTD) is expecting one lakh room accommodation will be required by 2025. Andhra Pradesh has been actively promoting and exploring the possibilities of tourism in the state since the bifurcation. International power boat racing tournament in Amaravati
Amaravati in Andhra Pradesh to conduct International power boat racing championship in Krishna River in November. The event will be conducted on November 9, 10, and 11. Nine teams and 19 drivers from 12 countries will contest in the championship along with team Amaravati. Uber Eats has launched its second service in Andhra Pradesh at Vijayawada on July 10. “Uber Eats service is launched in Vijayawada and consumers can order their favourite food by downloading the Uber Eats app on their mobile phones. Andhra Pradesh plans to boost rural and temple tourism
During the Masula Beach Festival at Manginapudi, Finance Minister Y Ramakrishnudu said the potential of rural and temple tourism was yet to be tapped in the state. “The tourism sector will be able to contribute in a big way to the State’s economy. Andhra Pradesh’s Krishna district is soon to have passport printing and Gulf visa application centres soon. “Once we get the passport printing facility here we can get passports printed and delivered quickly. Also, we are going to get visa centres of the Gulf countries. People travelling to the Gulf will be spared the trouble of visiting other States to get visas,” Krishna Collector B Lakshmikantham explained the plans. The wildlife sanctuaries and eco-tourism spots in Andhra Pradesh are declared to plastic-free zones from today onwards. The Forest Department has decided to take up different activities in response to the theme — Beat Plastic Pollution — given by the Union Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change. “We have decided to declare all wildlife sanctuaries and eco-tourism spots in the State as plastic-free zones. Amaravati to get a Rs 115 crore tourism push
The Andhra Pradesh government is planning for a Rs 115 crore tourism development in Amaravati. Amaravati Development Corporation Ltd (ADCL) is asked to identify private firms for development of two family entertainment centres (FECs) for Rs 30 crore each, one sports and recreation club for Rs 25 crore, and a resort for Rs 30 crore. One of the family entertainment centres will come up in Sakhamuru village in two acres, and the other will be built in another two acres at Inavolu village. Krishna district administration is all set to launch heli tourism in an effort to boost tourism sector of the region. The prime reason to initiate this venture is to put away visitors time during travelling. Andhra Pradesh Tourism to host three-day air show
The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority (APTA) is planning to host a three-day air show in the city from November 23. The event, titled Air Show-2018, will be held at Punnami Ghat. Air Show-2018 would be held with the support of Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). About `2.85 crore will be required to host the event, and the state government has released a government order (GO RT 149) sanctioning the same in principle. AP’s Kondaveedu fort to be developed into hill station
Government of Andhra Pradesh is planning to develop the historic Kondaveedu fort close to the new state capital Amaravati, into a hill station with a resort. The authorities are expecting a significant increase in the tourist footfalls in the coming years and are launching the developmental activities soon. A host of projects would be taken up by the tourism, endowments, archaeology, roads and buildings and electricity departments. ITDC to develop mega-tourism project
The India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) has signed an MOU with Hyderabad-based Suraas Impex for developing a mega tourism destination project at Bairav Lanka in Kakinada, East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh. The first phase of the project is estimated to cost Rs 550 crores. This project is the first of its kind for the state-owned ITDC with any private player.
