Healthy Lifestyle Cities Report : Amsterdam tops list of the top places to live
A UK health agency has analyzed cities across the world and come up with a definitive ranking of the top places to live. Netherlands’ capital city Amsterdam was a clear winner, with manageable obesity levels, more than 400 outdoor activities, and the third-highest happiness index. Two Australian cities feature prominently in the list, coming in second and 11th place, out of 44 cities. The Healthy Lifestyles Cities Report used ten markers to decide if a city lent itself to healthy living. KLM to launch direct Bengaluru-Amsterdam flight from October 28
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is all set fly from Bengaluru to Amsterdam, starting October 28, 2019. The launch of this new flight comes in line with the suspension of Jet Airways’ service to the route. The frequency of the flight will be thrice a week on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner with a configuration of 30 seats in business class, 45 seats in the economy comfort class and 219 seats in economy. Amsterdam imposes tax hike; bans Airbnb; curtails beer bikes
Amsterdam has unveiled plans to rein in tourism, reflecting the dissatisfaction of many residents who feel the city’s centuries-old center has been overrun. The citizens and the political parties have decided upon returning the “Balance to the City,” in a document that amounts to part of a governing pact. “The positive sides of tourism such as employment and city revenues are being more and more overshadowed by the negative consequences,” including trash and noise pollution,” the document said.
