Himachal Pradesh bags three awards in India Today Tourism Awards 2019
Himachal Pradesh has bagged three awards at the India Today Tourism Awards 2019. The state received three runner up awards for ‘Best Adventure Destination”, ‘Best Mountain Destination’ and ‘Most Scenic Road’ during the India Today Tourism Survey and Awards 2019 function held in New Delhi. Union Ministry of Tourism to organize ‘Cultural Festival of India’ in Kerala
To give a boost to the flood-ravaged tourism industry of the state, the Union Ministry of Tourism will organize a ‘Cultural Festival of India’ at Thekkinkadu Maidanam, Thrissur and Amal Jyothi Engineering College, Kanjirappally. The festival at Thrissur, the cultural capital of Kerala, will be held on February 23, 2019. Art forms of 10 states, including Kerala will be staged on the occasion, in which around 150 artists from different parts of the state are expected to participate. Kerala requests centre to include the state in Incredible India campaign to boost tourism
With an aim to boost the Kerala Tourism, the state tourism minister has requested the Union Minister for Tourism Alphons K J to include the flood-affected state in the Incredible India campaign. “In order to boost the Kerala tourism industry what actually is needed is to give maximum publicity and marketing highlighting the well placed state of post flood Kerala Tourism. K J Alphons inaugurates Sivagiri Mutt pilgrimage circuit in Kerala
Union Minister of State for Tourism Alphons K J has laid the foundation stone for the first phase of Swadesh Darshan development works at places associated with Sree Narayana Guru. Alphons has inaugurated the Sivagiri Tirthankar Circuit at a function held at the Sivagiri Mutt in Varkala. The Sivagiri Mutt will have a tourist facilitation centre, enquiry room, waiting room, first aid, kiosks, clock room (236 Sqm), community dining hall with kitchen and audio-visual hall to be constructed at a cost of Rs 14.92 crore. Kanyakumari to have development works worth 32 crores
Alphons KJ, Union Minister for Tourism has announced Rs 32 crores worth tourism development projects in Kanyakumari. The project envisages different enhancement activities in the tourist center including a bridge between Vivekananda rock and Thiruvalluvar statue. Alphons has visited the site along with Pon Radhakrishnan, Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Shipping. Falling rupee is saving inbound tourism in India
In the second week of September Union Minister K J Alphons said that rupee depreciation was good for the country’s tourism sector, and, his words seem to be true, looking at the growth of inbound tourism. The strengthening dollar and Euro has made India an attractive destination for foreign tourists. Ministry of Tourism to appoint strategic adviser for Chinese market
The government is taking a slew of measures to increase the number of tourists visiting India from China. And, as part of this initiative, the ministry is planning to appoint a strategic adviser for the Chinese market. The strategic adviser is appointed to advice and coordinate strategies to attract more inbound tourists from China. Tourism ministry sanctions Rs 80.37 crore for Kerala cruise projects
The Ministry of Tourism has sanctioned the project “Development of Rural Circuit: Malanad Malabar Cruise Tourism Project’ in Kerala under Swadesh Darshan Scheme for Rs 80.37 crores, said Minister of State for Tourism (I/C) K J Alphos. The project focuses on development of water based thematic cruise experiences in and around Valapattanam and Kuppam Rivers of Kannur District. അൽഫോൺസ് കണ്ണന്താനം കേന്ദ്ര ടൂറിസം മന്ത്രിയായ ശേഷം കേരളത്തിനു വേണ്ടത്ര സഹായം കിട്ടുന്നില്ലെന്ന സംസ്ഥാന ടൂറിസം മന്ത്രി കടകംപള്ളി സുരേന്ദ്രന്റെ ആരോപണത്തിന് മറുപടിയുമായി കണ്ണന്താനം. നടപ്പാക്കാൻ കഴിയുന്ന പദ്ധതികളേ താൻ പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കാറുള്ളൂ. കടകംപള്ളിയുടെ പരാമർശങ്ങൾ എന്തുകൊണ്ടെന്ന് അറിയില്ല. 400 കോടിയുടെ പദ്ധതികൾ ഇതിനകം കേരളത്തിന് നൽകി. ഇതിൽ എത്ര പദ്ധതി പൂർത്തിയാക്കിയെന്നു കടകംപള്ളി പറയണം.ശബരിമല അടക്കമുള്ള പദ്ധതികളുടെ സ്ഥിതിയും പറയണം. താൻ കേരളത്തിന്റെ ടൂറിസം മന്ത്രിയാണ്. ഇന്ത്യയുടെ മന്ത്രിയാണ്. എന്നിട്ടും കേരളത്തെ വഴിവിട്ടു സഹായിച്ചു. പ്രായോഗികമായ നിർദേശങ്ങളാണ് കേരളത്തിൽ നിന്ന് വരേണ്ടത്. ടൂറിസം മന്ത്രാലയത്തിന് 1320 കോടി രൂപ മാത്രമാണ് ബജറ്റ് വിഹിതമെന്നും അൽഫോൺസ് കണ്ണന്താനം പറഞ്ഞു.
India to highlight Yoga and Ayurveda to attract more US tourists
India plans to have road shows to emphasis alternate therapies like Yoga and Ayurveda to attract more tourists form the US. The tourists from US have been one of the largest contributors of income in the tourism industry, UK being the second foreign contributor. Recently, in the leadership of the tourism minister Alphons Kannanthanam, a road show under the theme ‘Incredible India’ has conducted in New York and Chicago.
