Air India Express, a subsidiary of Air India, has announced nine new flights connecting various south Indian cities from July 9-14. The move follows the UAE government’s objection to Vande Bharat Mission flights operated by Air India. Air India Express will operate these flights as part of the repatriation mission from Sharjah, according to the Indian Consulate in Dubai.  The flights will connect Madurai, Coimbatore, Thiruvananthapuram, Tiruchirappalli, Kochi and Hyderabad. Dubai International Airport’s (DXB) runway will be closed for repair work between April 16 and May 30. In view of this, Air India and Air India Express have announced a change in airport for some of their flights during the runway renovation period in Dubai International Airport. Air India Express is all set to launch its first direct flight service from Surat to Sharjah on February 16, 2019 and will also expand services from Gulf to Kannur in Kerala. The carrier will deploy Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft on this route and will be upgraded to four flights a week in the summer schedule. Surat-Sharjah will be the 47th non-stop direct connection of Air India Express between destinations in India and the Gulf region.   പറക്കാനുള്ള ശ്രമത്തിനിടെ വിമാനത്താവളത്തിന്റെ ചുറ്റുമതില്‍ തകര്‍ത്ത വിമാനം ഇടിയിലേറ്റ കേടുപാടുകളുമായി നാലു മണിക്കൂറിലേറെ യാത്രക്കാരുമായി പറന്നു. തമിഴ്‌നാട്ടിലെ തിരുച്ചി വിമാനത്താവളത്തിലാണ് അപകടം ഉണ്ടായത്. അപകടത്തില്‍പ്പെട്ട എയര്‍ ഇന്ത്യ IX 611 വിമാനത്തില്‍ 130 യാത്രക്കാരും 6 ജീവനക്കാരുമുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ഇന്ന് പുലര്‍ച്ചെ 1.30 ഓടു കൂടിയാണ് സംഭവം. തിരുച്ചിയില്‍ നിന്ന് ദുബൈക്ക് പോവുകയായിരുന്നു വിമാനം. പറന്നുയരുന്നതിനിടെ വിമാനത്തിന്‍റെ ടയറുകള്‍ മതിലില്‍ ഇടിയ്ക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. എന്നിട്ടും നിര്‍ത്താതെ പറപ്പിക്കാന്‍ മുഖ്യ ക്യാപ്റ്റന്‍ നിര്‍ദേശിച്ചു.മണിക്കൂറില്‍ 250 കിലോ മീറ്റര്‍ വേഗതയിലാണ് വിമാനം പറന്നുയര്‍ന്നത്. വിമാനം പറക്കുന്നതിന് കുഴപ്പമിലായിരുന്നെന്നും മുന്‍കരുതല്‍ എന്ന നിലയ്ക്കാണ് മുംബൈയില്‍ ഇറക്കിയതെന്നുമാണ് എയര്‍ ഇന്ത്യയുടെ വിശദീകരണം. യാത്രക്കാരെ മറ്റൊരു വിമാനത്തില്‍ ദുബായിലെത്തിച്ചു. സംഭവത്തില്‍ അന്വേഷണം ആരംഭിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. പൈലറ്റിന്റെയേും സഹ പൈലറ്റിന്റേയും ജോലിസമയത്തെകുറിച്ചും അന്വേഷണം നടക്കുന്നുണ്ട്.

Ai India Express flight lands at Kannur Airport Air India Express Boeing 737 flight which can carry 189 passengers has landed in Kannur airport today successfully completing the trial landing. This a major step before the scheduled inauguration of the airport by November 1. The aircraft has departed from Thiruvananthapuram at 9.30 am and reached Kannur by 10.30 am. The airport is ready for commercial operation, but the final licence would be issued after the trial landing using a commercial aircraft.
