Some airlines have increased fares to Rs 1.5 lakh in the wake of the UAE’s ban on flights from India to UAE taking effect at midnight today. Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has announced a codeshare agreement with Abu Dhabi’s first low-cost airline, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi. Etihad has placed its ‘EY’ code on Air Arabia Abu Dhabi’s inaugural flight from Abu Dhabi to the Egyptian city of Alexandria July 14, followed by the Nile city of Sohag the next day. Air Arabia has announced that it will launch direct flights between Sharjah and Vienna, starting September 15, 2019. Air Arabia is all set to open new route to Prague, the capital of Czech Republic, from December 11, through its hub Sharjah. The new route will offer good connectivity from 13 stations in India to Prague. The carrier will operate four frequencies a week. “The inaugural return ticket is starting from Rs 37,000,” said Sachin Nene, Country Head, Air Arabia. “To promote the new route, we will launch massive outdoor and radio campaign pan-India commencing September 1.
