Etihad Airways has officially opened its Etihad Eco Residence, Abu Dhabi’s first purpose-built, sustainable Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum rated cabin crew accommodation. A tourism delegation led by the Department of Culture and Tourism– Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) has successfully concluded three-day, three city roadshow in China. The DCT Abu Dhabi conducted the roadshow to help raise awareness about the emirate as a holiday destination for Chinese travellers. The delegation, which included Etihad Airways, hotels, tour operators and attractions, visited Beijing on 19th March, followed by Nanjing on the 21st and Guangzhou on the 23rd. Abu Dhabi has launched a comprehensive new digital initiative which will act as a ‘one-stop’ reference for all cultural information regarding the destination.  The new initiative will allow users to gain instant access to every possible aspect of cultural life and heritage in the emirate. A website would act as a main hub for information, along with a mobile app (iOS and Android), social media presence as well as podcasts on Soundcloud and iTunes that feature weekly broadcasts of cultural topics and discussions with experts. The flow of winter travellers to Abu Dhabi marked the highest hotel occupancy rate in February. According to reports, over 100 hotels in the capital city marked full during February. The Department of Tourism and Culture (DTC), Abu Dhabi revels that the figures excel with Asian countries of India and China with the most number of visitors. According to reports, over 34,000 Indian nationals arrived in January that is 31.5 per cent more than the previous year. The training workshop, conducted in association with Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI), was lead by Bejan Dinshaw, Country Manager of DCT Abu Dhabi at Fortune South Park hotel in the city. Abu Dhabi police have announced a major change in the speed limit across Abu Dhabi’s prime highway. Speed limit was increased from 140km/hr to 160km/hr on the new Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Road. Radars were set up to catch vehicles coming from Al Mafraq- Al Ghuwaifat international highway at a speed of 161 km/hour. The new law, where the speed limit is considered to be the highest in the country,  came to effect on 24 January. The Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Road links the capital to the Al Dhafra region and Saudi Arabia. Motorists breaking the limit will be fined.
