വനിതകള്‍ക്കു മാത്രമായുള്ള പാനിപ്പത്ത്-ഡല്‍ഹി പാസഞ്ചര്‍ ട്രെയിന്‍ പുനരാരംഭിക്കുമെന്ന് ഹരിയാന മന്ത്രി കവിത ജയിന്‍ അറിയിച്ചു. Ladies-only train to be restarted on Delhi-Panipat section

The minister said that the move to restart the train is after observing a large number of women commute between Delhi and Panipat daily. The train is likely to be restarted within the next three to four days. “The train service was stopped due to some difficulties which has caused a lot of resentment among women passengers who faced commuting problems,” Jain said. ‘New Ayodhya’ Township to boost tourism

Uttar Pradesh government is planning to develop a 500-acre ‘New Ayodhya’ township on the banks of the river Sarayu. ‘New Ayodhya’, which is being planned on a stretch of land between the villages of Majha Barhata and Jaisingh Mau near the ancient city of Ayodhya, will be constructed at an estimated initial cost of around Rs 3.5 billion (Rs 350 crores). New train to connect Barak and Brahmaputra valley

A regular weekly express train between Dibrugarh and Silchar will be introduced from April 8, connecting Barak and Brahmaputra valley. The new service will be jointly flagged off by chief minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal and minister of state of Railways Rajen Gohain, from Dibrugarh tomorrow, informed the Northeast Frontier Railway. The regular service of the train will start from April 16 from Dibrugarh and from Silchar on April 17. Rail Museum to keep open till 9 to promote night tourism

The National Rail Museum will be open till 9 PM from next month with an aim to increase footfalls at the museum. The move is in line with the views of Tourism Minister K J Alphons, who has been advocating that places of tourist interest should remain open post evening. “We are still working out the details. Goa issues alert after intelligence inputs say terrorists might arrive in India via sea route

Goa has issued an alert to all vessels and casinos operating off the state’s coast following an intelligence input about possible arrival of terrorists on board a fishing trawler, the state’s ports minister said. Russia to block Telegram App

Russian cloud-based messaging service app, Telegram is going to face a legal lawsuit from the Russian state security services. The company is facing charges as it refused to give access to the secret messages of their loyal users to the government. Telegram is rated as the 9th most popular messenger in the world. Railway catering services in trains, stations to attract 5% GST

The finance ministry today announced that a 5 per cent GST will be levied on food and drinks supplied by Indian Railways or Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd. or their licensees, whether in trains or at platforms (static units). The Finance Ministry has written to the Railway Board on March 31 about the 5 per cent rate to remove any doubt or uncertainty in the matter. Fourteen new e-toilets to come up in Pune

As many as 14 e toilets would be installed across 11 locations in Pune, for which the Municipal Corporation has sanctioned a sum of over Rs 1.99 cr to build the e toilets. The toilets will work as a vending machine in which users can drop coins to make use of the facility. The new project was launched by MP Anil Shirole. The modern e-toilets has additional features that include napkin dropper, baby diaper changing rooms, mobile charging points and voice-assisted command systems.
