Israel looking for 65% growth in Indian tourist arrivals

With the new flight service by Air India between New Delhi and Tel Aviv, Israel now targets a growth of over 65 per cent in Indian tourist arrivals. As many as 60,000 Indian tourists visited Israel in 2017, compared to 45,000 in 2016 and 39,000 in 2015. Homestays mushrooming in Uttarakhand’s Darma valley

Darma valley in Uttarakhand’s Pithoragarh district has been a quaint, small village town unnoticed by travel buffs. Now, it is abuzz with tourists and so as the homestays in the town. About 125 families in the valley are now providing homestay facilities to visitors. Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN), a state government undertaking, is giving them training and ensured sanitation facilities for the guests. 6.1 magnitude earthquake shook japan

An earthquake measuring over 6.1 magnitude shook western Japan earlier today. The quake wounded over five people and collapsing buildings and roads. The tremor shook the western Honshu located 96 km north of Hiroshima. Five persons are reported to be injured. No other severe casualties were reported other than damages to properties. Meanwhile, the nuclear power station located nearby the spot, were reported safe by the authorities. Around 150 houses lost regular water supply and electricity. The Union Ministry has listed Goa’s Colva beach under the ‘Iconic Tourist Site Development Project’, for the most-frequent tourist spot in the state. Railway to fasten trains at Golden Quadrilateral

Indian Railway, as part of fastening trains connecting the four metro cities of Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai and Delhi (Quadrilateral) has asked the concerned authorities to improve the existing infrastructure. The new move came after the officials come to know that the existing services lacked speed. The ministry also said that the trains should improve the current speed of 60 kmph to 130kmph. The American based Walt Disney World Resorts is all about to replace smart keys using mobile phones in their hotels. The new project comes under My Disney Experience app, in which all the features starting from hotel room reservation to itineraries would be featured in under one umbrella. Railway to open heritage steam loco for tourists

National Rail Museum is all set to open heritage steam loco operated trains, exclusively for the tourist in the next years. The steam engines used way back in 1856 years, were the oldest ageing 150 years. The 1920 loco model Phoenix, RamGoti 1865 and Fireless Locomotive made in 1951 is under restoration by the engineers. Rajasthan marks 10.50% rise in tourist arrivals

Rajasthan tourism marks a remarkable increase in tourist arrival, as in 2017 around 475.27 lakh, tourists visited the state which is higher in number when compared with the previous statistics. Around 16.10 lakhs arrivals, out of the total number were foreign tourists with the other half being domestic tourists. Norway to turn green in Aviation

On a mission to curb the increasing emissions and global warming, the Scandinavian nation Norway aims to come up with electric engines in Aviation. “Many people say that we must get rid of air transport because we will never be able to deal with emissions and noise, but this is an outdated approach,” said Ketil Solvik-Olsen, Norwegian Transport Minister.
