Uttarakhand calls for bloggers to promote tourism  

The Uttarakhand government has called for bloggers from allover the country to have a trip on ‘bloggers bus’ to four Cham Dham destinations. The bus which was flagged off from Rishikesh with eight passengers on Thursday, intends to promote the journey through blogs. The bloggers will also have the chance to cover the three-day Tehri Lake festival which commences on Friday. The first hop bus was flagged off from Rishikesh on May 16th. New plan to aid Queensland in managing climate change

Griffith University has taken up a key role in moulding the future Queensland Tourism by helping in the development of a new Climate Change Adaptation Plan. The plan aims for short and medium term time frames (2030), as well as heading for long-term goals to meet the state’s zero-net emissions target by 2050. Jordan offers Visa on Arrival for Indian nationals

Jordan now offers ‘Visa on Arrival’ to Indian nationals at all border crossings valid for a period of 30 days. The only document they should possess is proof of onward journey or return ticket. If they wish to, Indians can also continue to receive visas directly through Jordanian diplomatic missions before they travel. Uttarakhand banks on ‘Guru-shishya’ tradition to boost tourism culture

The Uttarakhand government is banking on the guru-shishya tradition practiced in the Himalayan region ages ago to revive its fast fading folk traditions. Reportedly, Bulgaria has found more love for travelling as the statistics substantiate this. Tourism Kelowna embraces new sustainability initiative

Tourism Kelowna will be the first organization in the Thompson-Okanagan region to initiate a new industry sustainability project. The project made by the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association (TOTA), the Biosphere Certification Adhesion Program will be launched in Kelowna first, followed by Kamloops and other places across the region. Registering record revenue in 2017, the tourism industry in Virginia is booming. The tourism industry, being state’s fifth-largest employer gained $25 as revenue in 2017. According to reports, this records a 4.4 per cent rise when compared to 2016. The industry totally contributed $1.73 billion to state and local revenue, recording a rise of 2.8 per cent. Tunisia’s tourism industry getting back on track

As per the tourism industry’s reports, Tunisia has achieved considerable growth in tourism sector registering a great recovery after the industry was hit badly by jihadi attacks in 2015. MATTA demands to abolish Tourism Tax

As a step to improve the tourism sector of Malaysia, the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) has strengthened calls for abolishing Tourism Tax (TTx). The tax was implemented on September last year for foreigners at a flat rate of 10 Malaysian Ringgit (RM10) per room for a night at hotels and other private lodgings. Rwanda to be Arsenal’s first ever travel partner

The Rwanda Development Board (RDB) announced that the central African country has become the official tourism partner of English Premier League giants Arsenal FC. The agreement is signed for three years. Government draws Rs 1,400 revenue from e-visas

According to a senior home ministry official, the government has received Rs 1,400 crore as revenue from the e-visa scheme. Since its inception of e-visa in 2014, the tourists from 163 countries are benefited from the scheme. The e-visa has been instrumental in boosting the tourism sector of India.
