The focus, at present, needs to be on attracting high spending, high quality international tourists to the country, opined Union Minister for Railways Piyush Goyal. Southern railway to operate joy rides between Ooty and Ketti
Southern Railway is planning to operate round trip Udagamandalam-Ketti-Udagamandalam as part of Paryatan Parv 2018. The special train have seating capacity of 80 seats in First class and 40 in second class totalling 120 seats, with four trips consisting of three coaches.First Round trip service started from Udagamandalam at 10.00 am on September 16 and arrived at Lovedale at 10.11 am and departed at 10.13 am. Andhra Pradesh envisages community based tourism projects
Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) is planning to enhance community based tourism in the capital city, Amaravati. Under this project the residents of a region invite tourists to visit their communities and provide them with overnight accommodation. APCRDA also plans to have feasible tourism projects in the region; in public sector and also private-public partnership (PPP). “The master plan will be drafted with the aim to promote community-based tourism. Launch of Flip-Flop dhow at Lamu Island, Kenya Lamu Island of Kenyan has marked history on recycling plastic on 15th September 2018, by sailing on boat built entirely of recycled plastic. Jet Airways reschedules Hong Kong flights due to Mangkhut Typhoon
Jet Airways have cancelled their flights to and from Hong Kong on 16th September 2018, due to the Typhoon Mangkhut. It was tweeted on their official twitter page. Odisha plans roadshows to promote sports tourism
Odisha government is planning to conduct road-shows to promote sports tourism in the state, in view of the forthcoming Hockey Men’s Cup to be taken place at Kalinga Stadium from 28th November to 16th December. Kollam port to boost tourism and cargo operations
Kollam port, in the southern district of Kerala, is expected to be a hub for cargo operations and cruise tourism, once the ongoing up gradation works are completed.
