Kerala Tourism has unveiled a new global brand campaign in Delhi on 19th February 2019 to replace the nine-year-old brand campaign ‘Your Moment is Waiting’. JNTO, Thomas Cook & ANA to conduct joint promotional activity at Mumbai Airport
Japan National Tourism Organization along with Thomas Cook & All Nippon Airways is conducting a joint promotional activity to promote tourism to Japan from the Indian Market at both domestic and international airports of Mumbai. The promotional activity, which started from 15th February 2019, will end on 21st February. Meghalaya government reiterates the importance of Responsible Tourism in the state on the increased tourist footfall in the state during last year. Luxury tourism projects in Andaman awaits environmental clearance
A panel of Union environment ministry made recommendation for clearance of two luxury tourism projects consisting of tents and tree houses in two of the Andaman Islands that are in the ecologically fragile zone and in the vicinity of turtle nesting sites. The ministry’s expert appraisal committee (EAC) for projects related to coastal regulation zone (CRZ) discussed three projects in three islands for the second time. Kerala has been favourite destination for tourists from Telengana
Kerala has been the favourite destination for Telugu people during 2018. As per records, around 1.26 lakh tourists from Telangana visited Kerala during the year, citing an increase of 27 per cent tourist footfall from the state, when compared to the previous year. It was informed by VS Anil, Deputy Director, Kerala Tourism Department, while talking in a B2B meeting in Hyderabad. “Meanwhile, 13 per cent increase in tourist base was registered from the neighboring State of Andhra Pradesh to Kerala during 2018,” he added. Kerala Tourism invites proposals to conduct Champions Boat League
The Department of Tourism has invited proposals from eligible sports/event management agencies for branding, promoting, marketing and revenue generation activities of the Champions Boat League. The last date of submitting proposals has been extended till 3 pm, February 21, 2019. The selected agency will be responsible for promotional activities for five years. From this year onward, the famed snake boat races of Kerala are to be held in a league format on all Saturdays from August to November 1. Kerala’s Champions Boat League to be conducted in August 10
Kerala’s much awaited Champions Boat League (CBL) is scheduled on 10th August 2019. The IPL style boat league was planned to conduct last year, but postponed due the unprecedented rain and floods. Goa plans to make registration of hotels mandatory
With an objective to curtail the mushrooming illegal hotels, the Goa government is planning to make registration of hotels with the tourism department mandatory. It was announced by Goa tourism minister Manohar Ajgaonkar after chairing a meeting of tourism industry stakeholders at the secretariat. “Whether big or small, all hotels will have to get registered with the tourism department or face legal action. We will impose a fine for non-registration and can even file court case,” said the tourism minister. Karnataka Tourism to set up a Miniature Park in Mysuru
The Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) has plans to set up a Miniature Park with an objective to attract more visitors to tourist spots in Mysuru.
