Ghaziabad’s Hindon Airport will start commercial flight operations from April
The new civil terminal at Hindon Airbase in Ghaziabad is likely to start operations by April-end. The airport was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently, Hindon Airbase is located at a distance of 40 kms from Indira Gandhi International Airport and the airport has been developed for the operation of RCS flights at the cost of Rs 40 crore. Rain Room, an installation by Random International in Sharjah, immerses visitors in continuous rainfall! When visitors enter the room, they are directed to navigate intuitively and carefully through the dark underground space in order to protect themselves from the downpour. Dubai attracts 1.61 mn visitors in Jan 2019; India tops with 206,000 visitors
Dubai has attracted 1.61 million international visitors in January 2019, with India being the top source market with 206,000 visitors. Total international guests shows a marginal increase with 1.61 million in 2019 compared to the 1.59 million visitors in 2018. Kingdom of Saudi Arabia stands second with 160,000 visitors and China stands third with 100,000 visitors. However, the number of visitors from India showed a 12 per cent decrease compared to the 2018 period. The guests’ length of stay at the emirate recorded 3.8 nights.

UAE, Colombia sign visa waiver
UAE and Colombia have signed an agreement on the mutual exemption of prior visa requirements for ordinary passport holders from both countries. The agreement was signed by H.H. India’s passport power improved by 11 ranks in the last four years
Thanks to the liberalisation of the visa policy, India has managed to jump to the 66th rank on the list from 77th in 2015. and the improvement has been due to liberalisation and several other measures. India’s passport power has improved by 11 ranks in the last four years whereas United Arab Emirates (UAE) has become number one in the ranking, replacing Singapore. China, on the other hand, ranks just nine levels above India, with 57th rank. Nepal’s Buddha Air to fly to Kolkata from May
Buddha Air, Nepal’s leading private air service provider, will operate flights to Kolkata from May-end this year. Buddha Air will operate its flights to Kolkata with the ATR 72-500 aircraft on Monday, Wednesday and Friday every week. The airlines had earlier planned to start flights to the eastern Indian city from mid-April. However, it changed its flight dates considering upcoming Indian parliamentary elections. “Although the date of the flights has been changed due to the elections, the flight schedule remains unchanged,” said a media statement issued by the Buddha Air. Kolkata, Bengaluru flights to remain cancelled
Flight No. SG-578 from Kanpur to Kolkata will remain cancelled from March 17 to March 30 due to regulatory requirements. Similarly, another flight SG-726 from Kanpur to Bengaluru, will also remain cancelled from March 18 to March 20. “The flights have been cancelled as per the orders of director general, civil aviation. Some flights are affected as some planes have been grounded due to security reasons,” said said Jameel Khaliq, airport director, Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi memorial airport Chakeri, Kanpur.
