Kannur airport to be fully operational by September

The Minister for Civil Aviation Suresh Prabhu has said that the Kannur airport will be provided with all possible help to make it fully operational by September this year. After meeting with Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Prabhu has directed Chairman, Airport Authority of India and other officials from the Ministry to take all possible steps to make Kannur Airport as a point of call for foreign airlines. Go-Kerala branded in Delhi Metro

Kerala Tourism is once again in the limelight. And, this time it takes the credit for launching one of the biggest advertising campaigns in the national level, aimed to mesmerize the domestic tourists. Joining Kerala Tourism, is the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, which has offered the exteriors of the coaches of the Delhi metro trains to adorn the vinyl graphics highlighting a collage of images from God’s Own Country. The campaign by Kerala Tourism includes the spectacle of a huge canvas, depicting the state’s soulful natural beauty such as serene beaches, emerald backwaters, lush hill stations, and exotic wildlife.

Yoga naturopathy center will be started in the state – CM

 “Government has been taking necessary steps to start a Yoga naturopathy center with international standards”, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. He was inaugurating the event organised by the state government in Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday, to observe International Yoga Day “Yoga is a form of exercise that helps in keeping several diseases away. It does not belong to any religion. There were efforts underway to hijack Yoga and colour it with religious connotations.  Such efforts should be discouraged”, he added.

State to adhere Responsible Tourism Policy – Kadakampalli

Tourism programs of the state will be carried out in line with the responsible tourism policy, reiterated Tourism Minister Kadakampalli Surendran. Our responsible tourism policy is not just to promulgate in meetings or to display on carnivals, he added. He was inaugurating the training program for the tourism resource persons selected by the Responsible Tourism Mission at Thiruvananthapuram on 19th June 2018.

Muniyara dolmens steal the hearts of Yoga Ambassadors

On the seventh day of the Yoga Ambassadors Tour 2018, the yoga delegates visited Muniyara Dolmens after the regular morning yoga protocol. The jeep safari through the bumpy roads and the misty hills of Munnar was a new experience for the delegates. The dolmens in this region are called Valivadu or Muniyara. The Muniyara Dolmenoids are prehistoric dolmens, belonging to the Neolithic Age. Golden days are ahead for Kerala Tourism

First quarter of the tourism year depicted substantial increase in the number of tourists in Kerala. Number of tourists (local and foreign) during the first three months of the year shows 17.87% increase than the previous year. 6,54,854 more  tourists visited Kerala during this period, which is the highest rate of increase since a decade. Same period in the last year, the number of tourists visited Kerala was only 36,63,552; while it is 43,18,406 in 2018. The number of indigenous tourists shown 18.57% increase so far. The Yoga Ambassadors from almost 20 countries have arrived in the Kerala’s state capital, Thiruvananthapuram on June 13. The yoga team was first received by the ATTOI officials from the Trivandrum International airport. On their arrival at The Leela Raviz Kovalam, the delegates were given a traditional welcome by the hotel.

Kerala Tourism has launched a video to greet Islam followers on the occasion of Eid-ul-fitr. The video is aiming to attract travellers to Kerala during the festive season by projecting the festive theme, cuisine and ambiance. Yoga Ambassadors Tour would enhance the growth of tourism in Kerala, said Tourism Minister Kadakampalli Surender in the Kerala Legislative Assembly today.  While answering the queries of MLAs – Prathibha Hari, A N Shamsheer, C K Hareendran, and U R Pradeep- the minister stated that the Tourism ministry has taken all the necessary steps to facilitate the Yoga Ambassador Tour Programme, which is to be conducted on June 14 2018.   There has been speculations about the safety of travellers to Kerala due to the recent Nipah outbreak. Though the state government has assured many times that it is safe to travel anywhere in Kerala except the four northern districts in the state where Nipah has hit, many has raised concerns about travelling.
