It is the largest art exhibition in India and the biggest contemporary art festival in Asia. Kerala tourism industry takes hard stance against enforced hartals
E M Najeeb, Jose Dominic, Abraham George, Baby Mathew and Riyaz Ahmed Tourism industry of Kerala is taking strong stand against frequent hartals (strikes) in the state. In order to convey their protest and to take necessary steps to alleviate the losses caused by surprise strikes and the related issues, Kerala Travel Mart (KTM) has initiated the Kerala Tourism Task Force, which would handle the issues related to hartals hereafter. Ponmudi KTDC Resort to have additional 15 rooms
Ponmudi, the renowned tourist destination of Thiruvananathpuaram, is going to have additional 15 rooms, including 5 independent cottages, in the Golden Peak Resort. Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran will dedicate the additional facilities to the public on 18th December 2018. A Sampath MP, DK Murali MLA and M Vijayakumar, KTDC Chairman, will also attend the function, among other dignitaries from KTDC and the local bodies. Thiruvananthapuram to get a face-lift
Akkulam Tourist Village Kerala Tourism is planning a massive action plan to make Thiruvananthapuram one of the favoured tourist destinations in the state. It was announced by the Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran, during the function organized to dedicate the renovated Akkulam Tourist village to the public. “Once the project is implemented, it will change the perspective of the capital city,” said the minister. CIAL model SPV for making Kadamakkudy a village tourism hub
Kochi is going to be one of the coveted tourism destinations of the state, as District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) is planning to implement a CIAL model Special Service Vehicle (SPV) for 14 islands of Kadamakkudy panchayath to convert them to a village tourism hub. It was revealed in a meeting of DTPC along with other stakeholders, including district administration and Kadamakkudy grama panchayath. Foreign tourists in big groups arrive in Kochi
The tourism sector of Kerala, which was almost stagnant after the floods, has been reviving slowly, but steadily. Tourists from around the world are flocking to Kerala, as the season has started. Chartered flights with 600 foreign tourists have landed in Kochi yesterday. Around 2000 tourists have already reached Kochi by ship last day. The fifth edition of International Mountain Cycling Contest has concluded at Wayanad in Kerala on December 8. MTB Kerala-2018 has concluded at the Priyadarshini Tea Estate in Mananthavady.
