Govt approves upgradation of 100 Adarsh monuments
Bhuddhist Remains in Salihundam The Union Minister of State (IC) for Culture and Minister of State for Environment, Forest & Climate Change Dr. Mahesh Sharma, has announced the plans for upgradation of 100 Adarsh monuments of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). Tourist amenities proposed to be upgraded include the parking, ticket counter, publication counter, cafeteria, toilet block, drinking water facilities, dustbins, benches, ramps (for the differently-abled), pathways, singages, etc. There are around 25 monuments under Phase I and 75 under Phase II. AP to organize adventure activities in Kondapalli forest
The Andhra Pradesh government is planning to organize adventure sports like trekking in the Kondapalli forest area. This was announced by the Irrigation Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao while addressing a gathering in connection with ‘Women Confidence Challenge’ organised by the Vijayawada chapter of Youth Hostels Association of India (YHAI) on the hill opposite Siddhartha Arts College. Built on a hilltop in the year 1143 Golconda Fort, located in the western part of Hyderabad city, is celebrating 500 glorious years. The State Disaster Management Authority of Kerala has directed the government to enforce a fishing ban after the India Meteorology Department warned of rain, squally winds and rough sea conditions and extended its advisory for fishermen. Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden, located at Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir, is all set to open for tourist from March 25, ahead of the Tulip fest 2018. In a bizarre incident, Lord Subramanya Swamy temple located in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh received a package containing a brand new i Phone 6s. According to temple staff, the package was found inside the donation box that was intended to collect money. Atleast 27 people including 25 women are feared to have been trapped in the severe forest fire atop the Kolukkumalai Hills in Tamil Nadu. “Two groups have gone for trek inKolukumalai. One group of 13 people from Tirupur & Erode and another group of 24 from Chennai, organised by Chennai Trekking Club. Eight men 26 ladies 3 children were included in the trek. Drones mapping villages and towns in Maharashtra
Surveying a village is time consuming and prone to errors. Maharashtra government has found a solution for this by replacing the manual surveys with drone surveys, which they say is very accurate and fast. The Maharashtra government is using drones mounted with high resolution cameras to speed up the exercise of mapping villages and towns in the state.
