Crystal clear water of Wah Umngot river at Dawki Meghalaya government is to rely more on tourism as the major revenue earner of the state, especially after the ban on coal mining by the National Green Tribunal (NGT). The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) of Andaman and Nicobar Islands hopes to keep tourism to move on, despite the alleged killing of the US national by aboriginal tribals on North Sentinel Island. Goa to develop two heritage tourism circuits

The Goa Government has started work on developing two heritage tourism circuits in an attempt to showcase the state’s historical sites and promote tourism in the region. Iran waives visa-stamping rules in bid to boost tourism

Iran has implemented a measure allowing officials to waive rules relating to stamping visas in foreigners’ passports. A report by Seday-e Miras, a news website affiliated to the country’s tourism department, said the decision is aimed at increasing visits by tourists. Since 2015, people that have travelled to Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen have faced restrictions when applying for visas to visit the United States. In June, Former NATO chief Javier Solana’s online application to enter the US was rejected for having previously travelled to Iran. Other countries, including Israel, have applied similar measures.

Flying out of Delhi airport to be costlier from December 1

From December 1 onwards passengers flying out of Delhi airport will have to pay more by paying some Rs 77 per ticket, with regulator AERA approving revision in service charges. Currently Rs 10 is levied on domestic tickets and Rs 45 on international tickets by the airport operator DIAL as passenger service fee. There are also revisions to certain aeronautical charges, according to an order issued by the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA). The revised charges would be applicable from December 1.
