Israel to set new record in inbound tourism
Israeli tourism sector has been showing a growing trend during the year 2018. Nearly 4 million visitors have visited the historical country, since the beginning of the year. Around 389,000 tourists visited Israel in November alone, as per reports. There has been persistent growth in tourism over the past two years and the authorities are expecting record number of tourists this year, if the trend continues. Rwanda signs MoU with Alibaba to lure Chinese tourists
Chinese tourists can now directly book a tour package to Rwanda on the online travel platform of Alibaba. It was announced by the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) on Wednesday in a statement. The launch of ‘Visit Rwanda’ pavilion on Alibaba’s travel arm, Fliggy, followed the launch of the Chinese e-commerce giant’s Electronic World Trade Platform (eWTP) in October, which aims at promoting tourism in Rwanda. Rwandan government and Alibaba have signed a MoU for the purpose. Madhya Pradesh Tourism has successfully concluded an event on Adventure Tourism from December 4 to 5, focusing on adventure tourism by combining marketplace meetings, networking opportunities, inspirational speakers and educational sessions together for national attendees as well as delegations from aboard. China Southern Airlines will commence new non-stop service from Los Angeles to Shenyang, China from December 18th, 2018. Shenyang is located in the northeast corner of China and is the fourth largest city in the country. Indian Railways will run a glass-enclosed ‘vistadome’ coach on the Kalka-Shimla route in the next ten days. Three eco-tourism zones near Corbett Tiger Reserve to open in January
Three new eco-tourism zones on the suburbs of the Corbett Tiger Reserve will be open in January, just a month after the Supreme Court’s approval for night stays at forest rest houses near the Reserve. Recently a division bench of the Uttarakhand High Court adjudged that “No tourist should be permitted to stay overnight in national parks, protected forests and reserve forests in order to protect wildlife.” The HC had also restricted the number of vehicles that entered the Reserve to 100 per day.
